Great spot in Chapel Hill! Feels local and cozy. We came in on a Friday night before a basketball game and it was decently busy. They had a fire going which was great, and the roof top seating was packed (did not have a chance to go up there). They have a food truck with some solid options. We ordered the sliders and fries, but were told by some regulars that the kale salad is one of their best items. Loved the seasoning on the fries, just wish they were a tad crispier but they are solid overall. Be sure to check them out!

Can't really rate the subcategories because our party had to go elsewhere. Why? Because the people with us from France couldn't get in because they wouldn't accept their passports as valid identification. Either they aren't aware of the rules or inhospitable to foreign visitors. Given a previous review about the attitude towards ID checks and people of color, makes you wonder. Either way, not a great impression.

Exactly what you want from a chill late-night bite and drink. Not too crowded, not too empty, and a solid chicken Caesar made with care and pride. Definitely glad I stopped at this friendly local spot.

Great drinks, food, and ambiance! I really loved their fries--they give a lot so you can share with a group. Service was also good--got some recommendations from the bartender and liked everything.

Not much food from the food truck but not Franklins fault. It’s good just limited selection. You are here for the beer and that’s the best part about this. Tons of craft local brews.

Pretty cool vibe, the service at the beer bar is ok, the food service and the food are awful! We ordered a cheese platter and it came with two slices of cheese only, and a few pieces of fruit and a few dry stale pieces of toast (see picture). It should never been called "cheese platter".We also ordered the french fries and it was extremely grease and salty. I wish they would allow outside food and just serve beer, like the super cool one in Carrboro.

During our recent visit to the bar, we appreciated the lovely ambiance and the drinks on offer. However, there was a concerning issue with the ID checks that we wanted to address. It was disheartening to notice that only non-white members of our group were asked for their IDs, even though we were all above the legal drinking age. We believe that inclusivity and fair treatment are crucial for any establishment, and this experience left a negative impression on our evening. We hope that the bar takes this feedback seriously and considers implementing more inclusive policies and training for their staff to ensure that all customers have an enjoyable experience. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Excellent sliders!! We tried both the chicken and the burger sliders and they were *chefs kiss*! Their fries were also delicious and perfectly seasoned. Fun and unique seating as well!

I’m a vegetarian. I went to Franklin Motors because I’m new in town and decided to try their vegetarian option. The burger and fries both tasted like pork sausage. The fries were very salty. The food was good in taste, outside of the porkiness of the after taste and the high sodium content. If you aren’t a vegetarian or vegan, I’m sure you’ll like the food. My suggestion would be to ask for minimal salt. You also have to pay to park in order to eat here. I thought I left pay to park restaurants back in Atlanta, but now it seems as it’s becoming popular these days.Btw, I was told Franklin Motors is a bar. Where you get your food from is a food truck and the name of the food truck is Rougette (I believe). But I guess they are somehow intertwined.

literally the sweetest and smartest bartenders! teri and sarah make the best team theyre so quick, friendly, and fair. they always make me feel welcome and wonderful. thank god for those girls. I also love how I never have to worry if one of the patrons Im flirting at the bar is 21 or not because they always ask for IDs and following all NC alcohol laws.
