Good atmosphere and adequate selection of drinks, but the way this place handles acoustics is abysmal, I struggle to hear people with just a dozen people in the bar, and the rebounding soundscape is pretty nightmarish with more people than that.
Tried to visit on a Sunday at around 1pm. Doors were locked, no sign on the door. The website lists hours as open 12pm-8pm on Sundays, and the listed phone number was disconnected. Was quite disappointed.

The beers are just ok but it’s got solid atmosphere and the bar tender was super friendly.
Got asked to leave after doing nothing wrong. Typical North Carolina. Rudest state in the USA. Chapel Hill is very snobby

Sitting at the bar for twenty minutes and not being asked if I want anything sucks. There were only 2-3 other people even at the bar. I just left. Wasn’t packed. Tuesday in Summer in Chapel Hill.
Great vibe! Super good brews, try the Guava Cider, or a lemon drop made by Helen!!

Bartenders are really nice !
Please don't do this to your bartenders. There are only two of them working on a Friday night, one of which is clearly still in training. I just waited 22 minutes at the bar and they didn't even have the time to greet me, much less take my drink order.

We go to Gizmo every week for music bingo. We love their drinks, music, and that they're dog-friendly! The staff at the Chapel Hill location are extremely friendly and personable, with good drink recommendations.
