We keep showing up during the posted hours and it keeps being closed... but the website keeps updating? Unclear whether this place is still open. One star for not being open during alleged business hours.

One of my favorite burger joints ever. The spicy goat is my all time favorite. The sides are delicious too whether you’re in a healthy mood or not there is plenty to love about this restaurant. The seasonal options are also phenomenal. Love this spot for many reasons but the food is again my favorite.

Very overrated. Good food, but it's so crowded all the time and it's playing annoying music all of the time. Has very good food to make some of that up.

*** This review is in memory for the greatest burger bar on Franklin Street. Press F to pay respects. Hops was a comparatively small venue compared to other restaurants on Franklin Street, but their burgers were to die for. The staff were polite and cool, the atmosphere pretty lively, and the smells coming the kitchen truly amazing. My favorite burger was the North Carolinian. The fried egg, apple bacon, fried green tomato, and pimento cheese truly elevated this burger to the next level. The cookery of the patty was pink and juicy, filled with flavor, and the meatiness of the Angus beef resonated throughout. The brioche bun was buttery, hearty, and did well to encapsulate the contents of the burger. The sweet potato fries were coated in a little too much sugar for my liking, but the crunchy was texture was phenomenal. Although some people complained about the price, every dollar was worth it. I am sad to see Hops go, but the restaurant truly gave me a memorable burger.

Don't let this place close. There are rumors that is will happen. This is the best burger place around. visit it and try it before it's too late. show your support. Fantastic burgers! Try it, and you'll believe it.

Did not like the chicken salad. To chopped up and salty. Could barely see the grape pieces. Thought it would be more like the chicken salad at Arbys or other cafes. Will not order again. However, my grandson ordered and liked the burger and fries

The best burgers and beers around!

So I went into this place expecting to get the impossible burger (which they don't have) and still let very happy with a 4 star rating so that's saying something! I don't eat beef and was by no means limited in my options. I had the diablo which went excellently with the turkey burger and I would come back for it. For my side I had the fried cauliflower but liked the rosemary fries better. Size portion - huge! (Too big). No need to start with apps. Cost worth the price. Friendly service. Good beer selection. There can be a wait despite outdoor seating but coming on a weekday evening was perfect!

I love a good burger place and I've been wanting to try this place. The menu is impressive with its multitude of choices: from the meat to the toppings to the bread! So many choices! The rosemary and garlic fries were a huge disappointment. The fries nor the toppings ha tasted fresh, and the taste got old quickly. The buffalo fries were delicious! The fried green tomatoes were pretty tasteless. The fried goat cheese was pretty good. I had a chicken sandwich and the chicken was juicy but very tough making it hard to chew. It was similar to when a steak is cut against the grain. My husband said the burger toppings were a good combination but the beef didn't have any flavor. It was also loud and the tables are so close and tightly packed in, it made it difficult to navigate. Also, not everyone likes (or can drink) craft beer so having other choices would be good.

I did enjoy eating at this burger spot. The food is delicious and I appreciate all the burger varieties that they have. Like the mac and cheese lobster burger or habachi burger. I would give this place 4 stars maybe even 5 but the wait time was long and the service from our waitress wasn't good. But the quality of their food is solid, the prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious. Instead of choosing one of their cool burgers like the Brooklyn burger, I decided to build my own. So I built a 8 oz. angus patty with the regular items such as ketchup along with, roasted peppers, coleslaw, two different types of aoli with chedder cheese on a brioche bun; with a side of sweet potato fries. Altogether I spent $12 something on the burger not including tip and no drink. Overall I like the quality and variety of the food.

Classic burger is very tasty, won't order a different one although the pickle back burger and the both Carolinian were also good. Fried tomato app with goat cheese was litty. Friendly waiting staff. 5 star!

The first time I went there, my wife and I arrived an hour before they closed. We were told that they were closing and couldn't serve us because they were slow. The place had 5-6 groups of two sitting at tables and the bar eating and drinking, so it seemed very odd. We left and found an amazing pizza place just a block away called Lotsa Stone Fired Pizza. This place was excellent. The pizza store was very clean, modern, and had a wide selection of food. The service was friendly and prompt. You get to choose your type of dough, your sauce, and a huge list of toppings. They also offer fresh salads and calzones, as well as a nice kids menu. The food came quickly and it's some of the best pizza I've ever eaten. Skip Hops and head down W. Franklin to Lotsa and you will be much happier.
