Hunam Chinese Restaurant

Amazing food, great service. I ate there a lot as an undergrad, and I'm enjoying taking my kids there now every time we're in town. My favorite restaurant in Chapel Hill hands down!

First time eating food from here. Did takeout. The fried squid was amazing and the sweet and sour fish excellent. My lemon chicken was okay, had better ones overseas and in Raleigh. But it does get the job done. The fried rice was also tasty and they put a good amount of sauces in bowls which is awesome. Overall would recommend eating from here

I’ve been coming here almost weekly for 10 years now since I started as a freshman at UNC. While Americanized, every fish is made with love and quality ingredients. They also have always had great, fast service for to go dishes and quick lunches. The owner is also an incredible guy and I appreciate him bringing us this great food!

But services are not recommended

I called today to make two orders and the guy who answered rushed me on the phone and didn’t even let me finish my order when I was trying to tell him no onions in my fried rice and hung up on me. Once I got there he was extremely rude to me. He tried giving me someone’s else’s order because he didn’t want to take down my order he then tried charging me $25 when I know that my order does not cost that. One of the employees from the kitchen asked me what did I want and I told him I then got my order and when I went to ask for hot sauce the owner was again extremely rude he said he will not give me hot sauce and he told me to leave. I did not like how he treated me he was very rude and I think racist to me for being Hispanic. I do not recommend this place.

Firstly, it's a very clean place. The restroom is the cleanest around this area. Secondly, the management is very efficient and the manager is always there taking care of customers' needs. Thirdly, the food is of high quality - it uses the fresh vegetables and the good meat. We visit this place every weekends.

Some of the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. Nothing was good, almost all of it went in the trash. General Tso’s chicken was overcooked and the rice was crunchy and definitely instant rice. The crab Rangoons were bland and kind of gross and the wonton soup tasted sour. A little worried I’m gonna be sick from what I did eat. Trust me just order somewhere else.

Some of the worst Chinese food I’ve had in a while.

This place is absolutely delicious. I was hesitant at first because of the reviews but all the reviews didn't correctly reflect the food. I ordered the honey sesame chicken with lo'mein. It was tasty. The chicken was crispy and had a good sauce to chicken ratio. I've come here 2 other times and it was equally good. Loved the won ton soup as well nicely seasoned and salty just how I like it. The staff is friendly and welcoming.

General Tso’s chicken was inedible. Full of pepper flakes, not the 4-5 whole peppers that traditionally come in the dish. Nowhere on their app can you adjust the spice level. Nor does it allow you to request for condiments like duck sauce or hot mustard. And, there were no condiments in my order. This place as really gone downhill.

OMG Got lunch, Shrimp with Black Bean Sauce. Sauce was like water, very little flavor. Shrimp were rubbery, perhaps boiled. At 16.95 I hoped for better. Probably the WORST I have ever had.
