I love this place. Out of all the Franklin St "legends," IP3 lives up to the hype. The food is terrific, and the staff is fantastic. I'm new to the area but have already been here 4 times at lunch and dinner, and it's always great. Some buddies and I watched Champions League soccer here, and it draws a great crowd. Also, during a hectic dinner rush, I saw one employee volunteer to take an order to a customer who was drinking at a bar next door. I have NEVER seen something like that at a place that busy.Go to IP3!

This place is good if you have no problems. We've happily spent over $1000 at this business. However, our patronage is done. Briefly, we ordered $120 in pizzas for my daughters birthday party through DoorDash. One minute after placing our order we were alerted that pizzas that were supposed to take 20 minutes to make were now expected in 80 minutes. So, we immediately canceled with IP3 and no pizzas were made. No biggie. This was in October. In April (yes, 6 months later!), we are still trying to get our money back, trying 3 different avenues! IP3 management has not been helpful, basically saying they couldn't heIp after DoorDash and our credit card company refused to issue a credit. Even more strange, IP3 disavowed any and all responsibility! Trying to take the middle road, I asked for a gift certificate, since we did pay for food we never received and they got paid some fraction of the $120 (with a tip nonetheless). After the owner bragged that he did $25K a week of business with DoorDash, he refused to give me a gift certificate. (I am clearly in the wrong line of work. Regardless, why is this information pertinent? So you're getting handsomely paid, but can't rectify an error that represents 0.48% of your weekly business? A mere pittance!)In the end , why does this need to be so hard??? We paid a vendor IP3 selected, IP3 and the vendor got paid, but we got nothing. In an attempt to compromise, we requested a gift certificate. Heck, we would have taken the five pizzas during either of the special trips I made to the restaurant during my work day. The owners were adamant... no refund (in any form) for you!We will never order from this business again and you shouldn't either, unless you can guarantee that there will be no problems. Try Carrboro Pizza Factory down the road in Carr Mill. That owner is nice!Update: after trying my very best to be kind and clear to the latest DoorDash rep (breathe!), my husband just received a refund. How many hours of my life have I wasted on this stupid issue? If you don't want to waste your time with a similarly annoying, frustrating experience where a business is, in the end, stealing your money, stay away!

Reticent to post. My daughter started at UNC this year and Id been wondering about a great pizza joint.I have overheard at least 5 groups of people raving about IP3 during g my visits over this year and finally went to try.The gentlemen on the phone couldn’t have been more pleasant. And the atmosphere on there is really good. Even RJ Davis likes RJ place. But my cheese pizza was completely underwhelming and Iwould not ever return here.Pizza was greasy and had multiple places where cheese didn’t even cover the bottom part of the slice. Crust/dough was nothing special at all. While I was eating it outside a family came over and asked about the pizza and I showed them my fresh pizza. They said many things including where is thx tomato sauce? To which I informed them I ordered extra tomato sauce. They promptly left for another restaurant.Obviously many people like this place. I am not one of them. And find it hard to imagine someonewho loves pizza would like it. Dave Portnoy would not give it above a 6

Best pizza around , Real Italian style. Nice variety. Good lunch spot in Chapel Hill.

Very rude owner. impolite. Pasta tastes like frozen, reheated. They get huge take out orders so they don't care for dine in customers. They ll make you wait an hour for pizza.

Very busy authentic pizza restaurant. Regulars who understand their process seem to be treated like old friends. People from out of town, like me, are treated like annoyances who should know online orders for take out are through GrubHub so have to wait an hour before the order will be started. So get back in line.

Sicilian pizza took over an hour while there were hardly any other customers in the restaurant. The pizza was also not very good at all. Definitely expected a lot more, will not be coming back.

I ordered a calzone, they sent a pizza. I mean I guess it's a do-it-yourself calzone? Like should I fold up the pizza?

I had high hopes and was ultimately left mildly disappointed: (Sicillian Meat Lovers, pepperoni calzone, and Buffalo chicken calzone.)The Good:The crust on the calzones were amazing, delicious and fresh. I really enjoyed the Buffalo chicken calzone. Also, I liked the affordability of their sicillian with toppings where most places in the area charge far more. The toppings were good quality and a great quantity. The Bad: The sicillian crust was unforgivably dried out as if it had been over cooked. It also significantly lacked any seasoning which left it somewhat flavorless. The calzone sizes were inconsistent - both were larges, but take a look at the picture, and you’ll see one is noticeably smaller. And a really frustrating thing with the calzones is that they slammed a massive dollop or ricotta in the middle and none anywhere else. This ended up leaving me with a disgusting bite of pure ricotta once I got to the middle of my calzone. The calzones were pretty expensive, which would’ve been more acceptable if they both were the larger size and not one of them smaller than the other when we order both large.

Wow.How had I never heard of this place? It’s on the strip with a billion other restaurants, but you can’t miss the Italian flag on the overhang out front. Inside its walls are dedicated to UNC players and other sports memorabilia. The atmosphere is inviting. The family behind the counter was great. Their (mom?) kept coming out and chatting with customers. They were extremely friendly and accommodating for our rather large party. The best part? THE PIZZA WAS AMAZING!The crust was so good. I will definitely be coming back and telling my friends and family about this place!Parking: The only issue is parking, but that’s the same issue you’ll find with any business on the strip in chapel hill. There’s never anywhere to park. We had to park multiple streets back in the over flow lot and it is pay to park.
