The place was mostly empty and the music atmosphere was way too loud, the front hostess seemed to have been in a sour mood that day and was also somewhat loud. The food didn't taste great. The refried beans and the red sauce had a strange aftertaste. Beef was okay but needed a bit more seasoning. Beware, their menu is ridiculously huge with too many things listed. Perhaps a much simpler menu will be more efficient.

While this is a very nice restaurant with good service and cold beverages, we really go to eat, right? I was disappointed that the food was sub par. It just wasn't very good. Maybe a bad night, I don't know.

Always our go to for Mexican food but a recent experience last week the food, specifically the soup and drink, was disappointing. Lets hope they rise back to their prior level.

I wanted authentic Mexican for lunch and decided to try a new place. Liz was my server and mentioned she would give “free guac or queso today” and insisted I should take advantage of it. Although I was fine with my chips and salsa, I said the guac would be fine to take home.
I ordered the shrimp fajitas, which were a decent serving but just OK. Liz came back and said the guac would only be free if I left a Google review. I told her, “Okay sure, I might do it later,” and she said, “Okay.” By the time I finished, she said she needed to see the review before I left. I told her what I said earlier and the truth—that I didn’t know how to do a review because I don’t normally review restaurants. I then asked how much the small guac was, and she said $5. $5 for a sample guac?
I had somewhere to be, but she held onto my bill until I signaled for her to come back so I could pay and leave. My meal was $11.50 without the guac, and I wouldn’t have gotten it if she told me initially that there were conditions. I left paying almost $20 and realized I could’ve gone to Chipotle for a small guac that tasted better and came in a larger serving.
I also had to Google how to even leave this review. Customers do not owe a place reviews, and because of my experience, I’m leaving a not-so-good one.

Most disgusting tacos I ever had. It was so bland with no seasoning and they didn’t even offer me an green sauce

Liz was great. We had the quesadilla fajitas and enchiladas verdes which were great. We are frequent customers and this is definitely one of the best places in chapel hill for Mexican food.

Excellent service, food, and atmosphere! With a group for a late lunch. Friendly greeters and servers. Very attentive and ensuring everyone was taken care of. Plenty of warm chips and hot spicy salsa! Excellent fajita’s, burritos and tacos. The margaritas were top notch, as well. Until next time!!
