Ambiance - 4 It has a nice little trendy, funky, feel to the restaurant. Eccletic art, and a mixture of new and old school items. Service - 4 good service. Waiter was attentive. Food came out at a good pace Food - 2 I really wanted to like my meal. I got the al pastor pad Thai. The flavor combination was better than expected. I liked the concept and the Asian - Latin fusion shows great potential for this dish. Unfortunately execution was not on par. The pad Thai part of the meal was probably the worst pad Thai I've ever had. Noodles didn't feel stir fried and they sat in a very liquidity soup/sauce. It didn't didn't stick to the noodles at all and the whole pad Thai was just awful. It felt like they boiled noodles and dump watery sauce on top. I like or wok charred buk choy but was very expensive given the portion size, preparation, and that it was buk choy.

I’m not a fan. I ordered the beef bulgogi, expecting flavorful strips of high quality beef. I got bland ground beef. I ate some of the rice, kimchi, veggies, but couldn’t take more than a few bites of ground beef. It was just gross. The cocktails were ok, not great. Service was good. But oh man, the music! It was terrible. A mix of sad Coldplay songs, some late 2000’s one hit wonders, Katy Perry. Every song was either grating or depressing. Um…I will say the food portions are generous, if not edible. Even the churros were meh. I won’t be returning. Oh also, the online menu doesn’t match the in person menu entirely. Weird.

I was told by the waitress that their pad thai is vegetarian but in my last visit the server told me that the pad thai contains fish sauce. That's devastating! They need to do better job is labelling their menu. Not coming back!
We have been fans of Lucha since it opened over a decade ago! We lived nearby as recent graduates and still come back at least a few times a year now that we live in Durham. The menu is rock solid and the cocktails have always been fantastic. We recommend the nachos, the green beans and the dumplings—we’re fans of the small plates. Always friendly service. It’s one of our cozy go-to’s.

We stopped in for dessert and it was delicious! The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Loved the funky Asian/latin fusion decor The Tres Leches cake was so moist 8/10 and the stuffed churros were chocolate sauce were 9/10 Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!!

Thoroughly enjoyed my first experience here. The food, service and atmosphere were great! Really enjoyed talking with Kwa(Sorry, no idea how to spell his name). He was so nice and it was awesome to see how many folks he knew coming through the door. He called me by name the whole time I was there. Just a fantastic person.
