Unfortunately, it was closed, but that information was not provided on the website.
So sad to see they are having staffing issues. Chapel Hill location is only doing Saturday Pop-Up service.

Food used to be fresh vegetables, chicken & pork chops, biscuits, cornbread, all homemade southern style…now canned veggies & mediocre meats. When Mama Dip was alive, this was the spot. Overpriced & average food.

Great experience. The staff did not know it, but sat in the same booth as I did with my Dad many years prior. The food was great. Happy for the family to be able to retire, but you will be missed. We had a wonderful waiter who attended Chapel Hill High School. Thank you all for a job well done. You did your Momma proud!!!

Wanted to eat there before they closed up. Hadn't eaten there in several years, but the food was still excellent. So sad to see this restaurant closing up it's doors.

Chapel Hill long time favorite. Sad to see them closing the restaurant. A sign of the times, we're all getting older. Thanks for the memories.

We came here all the way from Columbus, Ohio. We found this family owned southern eating on Google. The young lady that served us was awesome. The food was delicious and filled our belly. Thanks again for the wonderful experience.

Food was good, service was terrible! I am not sure why service was terrible whether it was because we had 6 people (server gets automatic 18% tip for 5 or more guests) or because we had kids. We came in for lunch around 2 pm on a Saturday (July 20th 2024) and server came to get our drinks, no smile and carried an attitude about him. He didn’t give us his name either. He just said, “can I get your drinks” my husband asked what was on tap and he just left our tablw without saying a word. My husband and I were confused, I said he didn’t even get my drink. About 3 minutes later, he comes back and gives my husband a drinks list.
A few minutes later, server brings everyone’s drinks but mine (lemonade). Server then just leaves without saying a thing. He comes back and asked if we were ready to order, I asked for a few more minutes and my husband also asked about my lemonade, I said oh yeah, I forgot about that I said smiling to lighten the mood as I thought maybe the server was having a bad day. In a curt and rude voice, he tells me “it’s coming”.
When we were ready to order, he got our order and again, no smile and I could almost hear him sigh at us. Once he got our order, he just grabs the menus from us and YANKS the menu from my 8 year old niece. I’m not kidding, he yanked it from under her. She had her elbows on the menu and instead of him saying could I get the menu please, he puts his fingers on the menu itself and yanks it from under her. I was so taken aback that he did that that I didn’t say anything at the time.
After giving us our meal, he NEVER checked on us once to see if we needed anything else. Frankly, husband and I are very good tippers, we usually give 20-35% for a good service. Funny thing, server was quick to get our payment, he was there at our table practically within seconds the money was there. We paid cash, we gave him exact change and he never came back to give us our receipt. There were only 2 other tables that had people in it so they weren’t that busy.
FOR ANY FUTURE PATRONS, if you have children or have more than 5 people DO NOT COME HERE. They will treat you like CRAP!!
