When visiting North Carolina, I went here for lunch with my cousin (who lives locally so knew about the place) - a very nice family-run restaurant, really enjoyed the sourdough BLT, one of the best BLTs I've ever had. If I lived locally I'd happily go again!

A perfect, simple BLT! They also have great banana pudding and coconut cake for dessert. It's so much fun for me to discover a place like this when I'm traveling!

They apparently are well organized in the kitchen. My BLT was ready in about 3 minutes. I got the single (7 slices of Bacon) and it was amazing. They also have a double and a a triple! (A full pound of ?).

Merritt's has great simple food and is perfect when you want to sit outside, as most of the seating is the front or back "patio" tables. It might be tough on a yucky wintery day when there's only about 4 tables inside. We had items they seemed famous for: single BLT and cheeseburger. They were both great! I hadn't expected that they wouldn't really have sides, like fries. They do offer soups and a salad, but they're entree prices. I did see a couple desserts in a cooler case, like banana pudding, but we didn't try them this visit. It's quick order at the counter and wait to pick up at another counter. They have a nice text system so you can wait outside or wherever and know when it's ready. Drink options were basic soda fountain, sweet or unsweet tea and bottled drinks in a fridge case. I had hoped they might have a cold brew coffee or something a little fancy like that, but not the case. Overall I definitely recommend, just trying to give the picture to have proper expectations.
