Found these at Locopops and wow! Loved the tamales with chickpeas, the enchiladas with poblano, and black bean pupusas. To anyone with celiac- I have celiac, and have had no problems with this food. Absolutely delicious!!!!

Phenomenal mango or peach pico de gallo. Definitely the best I’ve ever had. Their pupusas are so friggin good as well! We go to Durham farmers market every week just to buy from these guys! Get there early, because they sell out of the pico quickly

I needed catering that could accommodate vegetarians and be celiac-friendly -- and still be delicious. Soul Cocina was absolutely brilliant! We had the range of tamales (the smoky pintos will make you weep with delight) and yuca puffs, and everything was so delicious. Even my meatatarians were happy! Soul Cocina food is also an incredible value for what you get -- I was so impressed and would highly recommend them. I'd give them 10 stars if I could.

Amazing latin vegan food! I've been looking for something like this for a long time.

Bought some tamales, salsa, cauliflower sauce, and enchiladas at the stand from the Farmers market. My family loves everything. So tasty, flavorful, and filling. I can't recommend enough

I'm a big time fan! Used to track down Soul Cocina at various events and pop-ups, and now we've been ordering delivery from them. Their tamales are excellent (and so nice to have stocked up in the freezer for easy, healthy lunches). We've started branching out and ordering other items too, like their taco kits, arepas, and salads, and nothing has disappointed. Everything is super delicious, and you get a lot of food for the money. We easily get two meals out of the taco kit, for example, which makes it a great value. We love that everything is vegan and made with care by local folks. Give 'em a try! A+. Gold stars.

We first sampled Soul Cocina as part of koan's kommunity hub offerings and really enjoyed everything we've tried. Lately we have ordered online and picked up meals at the Durham Farmer's Market. Love their enchiladas and salsa and have included them on each order. Their yucca gnocchi was a surprise hit - a quick saute in olive oil and garlic and they are done - no boiling necessary.

The best pandemic take-out/delivery, plant-based, latin food ever.I've always been a fan of Silvana's food since even back in the day when it was just a farmer's market hidden gem (I guess it still kinda is). Not sure why I took so long to write a review, but I think this pandemic reminded me why her food is so good: her food is highly affordable, highly nutritious, freezes very well, and most of all it's DELICIOUS.For people who need suggestions or are just starting out on Latin plant-based food, I think this is a good selection to start with:Taco Kit:Super delicious and easy to put together. The key is warming up a tortilla properly (don't eat with cold tortillas!). The salsa is sooo good and I think the barbacoa filling would delight even meat lovers.Mushrooms & Kale Polenta Lasagna:The best. This is like the dish you bring to a party and 1 year later people will still be talking about it.Tamales:They are amazing. The fillings are great, but sriracha is my personal fav. The masa surrounding the fillings is flavorful (sometimes I like to sprinkle extra salt on mine). Also, tamales made with banana leaves aren't the easiest thing to find.Roasted plantains:Simple and delicious! Sometimes other places make this and they cook it to where it almost becomes mush. This has body to it. You can also torch this and caramelize the sugars more. YUM!Yucca Gnocchi with lemon cauliflower sauce:I've always been a fan of this dish. So delicious. What's super cool is that yucca has a lower glycemic index than potato, so this is perfect for gnocchi lovers who want to cut down on potatoes.Enjoy![written while eating a tamale]

Soul Cocina serves up seriously delicious, plant-based Latin American food. We love featuring tastings from Soul Cocina as part of our Chapel Hill Walking Food Tour!

They delivered some delicious food to us a few weeks back. We miss seeing them at the farmer's market, but it was great to get tamales and plantains delivered. We got two sets of tamales - we ate one and kept the other one frozen for later. They heated up well and were super tasty. I love the black bean, spinach, and olive tamales. The plantains were scrummy. I really appreciate that they drove the food to our house and will definitely get delivery again.

Delicious arepas, made with all fresh ingredients. Don't be scared off by the vegan recipes: even for an omnivore like me, Sylvana's food is always fully satisfying and tasty.

We had the tamales twice. The first time they were decent but the second time we bought them the tamales were all cornmeal very very little filling. The vegetable lasagna was horrible we did not try a second time. Also my family and I feel that they charge a lot for what you get. $63 for 9 tamales and a slice of of lasagna bought at their food stand

Located in a shared market space with other vendors, Soul Cocina offers delicious plant-based fare! We've tried nearly everything on the menu and all of them have been delicious. Their tamales and yuca pasteles are wonderful! The owner is really sweet and the food is fresh. Some indoor seating and outdoor seating available in this shared space.
