My hungry crew hit this place after doing the Tar Heel 10 Miler. The place was packed but they did a great job of moving people through the line. We did find out after we were almost to the register that we could have ordered from our phones at the table. I ordered the grits bowl. It was phenomenal -- creamy grits, tons of cheese and a good portion of eggs. Son loved his farm plate and polished off half his girlfriend's wrap as well. Girlfriend did not like her Bombay Lassi smoothie but I tasted it and thought it was great. Not too sweet with a mango flavor. I am not a coffee drinker but am a fountain soda fan so was glad they had fountain soda. Loved all the outdoor space on the porch to eat. Will definitely be back when in the area again.

My first time here. The wait staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The sandwich I had was delicious and so filling, I took half of it home. I’d certainly go there again four lunch.Parking: If you arrive during usual lunch hour, given the other eateries in this strip mall, parking can be difficult.

Great food! The breakfast burrito is amazing! Highly recommend. My 8 year old loved the pancakes. Staff was super friendly. Great atmosphere, clean bathrooms. It was cold, but the patio looks like a lovely spot to enjoy breakfast or brunch! I also love that they do the family dinner option for busy weeks!Kid-friendliness: Plenty of great options for kids (and kids who love eggs and veggies!). Definitely feel good about letting my kiddo eat here!

This place seems like the perfect place to hang with friends and family or to bring your laptop and get some work done. I love that you can come here for coffee, smoothies or baked goods if you just need a pick me up or you can order a full meal off their breakfast or lunch menus if you're big hungry lol. I wanted to get a taste of both menus so I tried the RC Eggs Benedict and two wraps -- the BLT chicken Caesar and the Thai chicken. I really enjoyed the eggs Benedict because I love a good fried green tomato, but the Thai chicken wrap was the star for me.

Great place to study. Wi-fi, outlets, and good vibes. The only thing that could have made my experience better is live music.

Big portions, pancakes are really good and share well. There weekly specials are creative and really good. Great atmosphere for studying and meetings. Soups are also really good and fairly priced for cheap lunches. Really nice assortment of beverages and coffee bar.

I'm giving The Root Cellar a 2, a very unusual score. It's worse than a mediocre 3, but better than a pissed-off 1. I ordered a single sandwich, no one else was in line. It took 15 minutes, even though it's just a sandwich place, with no real cooking happening in the kitchen. The cost for a sandwich and two small bags of chips was $23. Ouch! The sandwich, a Cuban, was quite good. I'll not return.

My wife and I went here after taking a morning hike with the dogs. The food was very good. It was very large portions. Staff was friendly and helpful. When I received my breakfast burrito, I didn’t receive the fruit that came with the meal. but when I finished eating half of my burrito (because I couldn’t finish all of it) I went back and told (I think it was the manager) they forgot the fruit. I think I he was more upset than I was. And gave me a fresh fruit cup to go. My wife and I both were not able to finish our meals. We both took it home to finish later. The coffee I had was also very good. We are very happy that we were able to eat outside and keep an eye on the car full of dogs.Vegetarian options: The only healthy meat on the menu. It was a veggie patty.

We catered an event through the Root Cellar, our second experience with them, and again it was excellent! Tina was so easy to work with and the food was delicious and enjoyed by everyone. Professional, responsive, wonderful menu, excellent food. Highly recommend.
