This rating will hopefully go up soon. I arrived a little before what I thought was closing time (based on Google maps) but it was already closed. I asked next-door if the hours changed and they thought it was closing at 1600 now (seasonal, I’m sure - makes total sense). So, I submitted updated hours to Google Maps and I’ll have to find an opportunity in the future to tip the balance on my current neutral rating.

The coffee is amazing! One of the best, if not the best, coffee in Chapel Hill. The atmosphere and music is very relaxing. There is also a small seating area (4 tables and some individual chairs and benches).

Best true cup of coffee, latte I have ever had in Chapel Hill. Real Italian espresso machine operated by a master. Laid-back chill outside seating. Follow the herd to Starbucks for coffee so mediocre can only be consumed with sugar flavorings, or follow the true gourmands to Tin Cup Joe's.

Outstanding coffee, reasonable prices, and good location. The shop is in an old red camper between a burger shop and a new-age crystal place, and it's probably the coolest damn coffee shop I've seen. Good service, too.

Stopped by on a Wednesday morning and got some of the best coffee i've ever had! Tin cup joe is nestled in between Al's burger shack and a crystal shop and is a hidden gem right off Franklin street. We were able to park along the street and walk over. Service was fast and easy and was absolutely delicious! The prices were also amazing (cheapest coffee i've had in awhile) so i'll definitely be back! Can't say enough good things!

Friendly service. Top notch coffee, better than most sit-down places.

The BEST cappuccino in Chapel Hill. The BEST service by an un maître-café (popularly referred to by the Italian term "Barrista" which is overused, imo). The BEST outdoor ambiance in Chapel Hill. Yes, Cafe Driade has a better setting but Tin Cup Joe is in the perfect little corner of downtown.. accessible by foot, lots of parking in close proximity. They take CASH money[!] ...as well as plastic forms.[*some local cafés are not accepting cash; these are perpetuating systemic racism due to the fact that the overwhelming majority of people on the low end of the economic spectrum are of specific skin colors. e.g.: if you want to reduce economic (ergo racial) bias, vote with coinage and paper money, **demand** those places you patronize accept CASH!]If you want the authenticity and banter-wisdom of a great, old-school bartender presented with the delivery of quality espresso and or tea... Stop in at Tin Cup Joe; you won't regret it.I am just a Customer, not an owner/investor.. nor was I paid for this glowing endorsement.Parking: Lots of on-street parking, parking lot available across the main drag.

This is the best place to get coffee in town - period. The owner literally built the little tin trailer with his own hands and it’s packed to the brim with little knick knacks and art. Brewing coffee and making espresso drinks is an art, and you can tell he has got it down perfectly. You can add frills if you want (I love the marshmallow latte, it’s just sweet enough) but if you just want a good cup of joe where you can really taste the full flavor of the beans…go to the back of the seating area by Al’s where it looks like some scrap was left out and discover the best coffee in town.

This is a humble little coffee shop run by a friendly man! Try the Dr. Pepper Latte - I was a little nervous it wouldn't taste good, but it was mild in flavor, so it was just enough of a change from the usual. I also recommend going half sugar, because it was really sweet.
