Zoe's Kitchen has food that appeals to me. They specialize in Mediterranean food that is healthy and....well, sometimes tasty. But here's the thing: I have severe food allergies, and I have been doing the Whole30 plan of eating to ferret those allergies out. Zoe's advertises itself to be in partnership with the Whole30 program, and supposedly supplies literature that helps people choose the right foods for their W30 program there. Thus, we went there the other night, hoping for a good, quick meal. I asked the counter person for their information on the Whole30, and that person scrabbled around for several minutes before shrugging and announcing that she couldn't find the pamphlet that was supposed to help me choose. So I chose their chicken kabobs (what could they do to chicken?!) and cauliflower rice bowl and green salad. It was okay, but barely okay. I would have sworn that the cauliflower rice had nothing in it at all, and the chicken tasted like….grilled chicken. By the time I got home, I was aching all over and feeling ill. I went to bed that way and felt sick the next day. At about one in the morning after our meal there, I got out of bed, unable to sleep, and looked at Zoe's web page, which has an "allergen" chart, although they do not list the ingredients in their foods, which would allow people to make intelligent choices. This review may not be meaningful to people who have no allergies, but for those that do, here's what my meal contained that made me sick: Dairy. Dairy in the chicken (???), and dairy in the cauliflower rice bowl (?!?!?)....why on earth either would contain dairy, I don't know, but what I do know is that the Whole30 program announces that the chickekn kabobs and the cauliflower rice bowl both are "compliant" with the program....and yet the program does not allow dairy products. There is clearly some "noncompliance" here. My point here is: if you have food allergies, be VERY careful at Zoe's. Otherwise, the "Mediterranean" food is fairly mediocre, the restaurant is none too clean, and it's about as good a place for a decent meal as McDonald's. Let the buyer beware. And if you are in Chapel Hill, go to the Mediterranean on East Franklin for REAL Med food. What you’ll get there will be creative and delicious, will be served in a raucous (all of Chapel Hill seems to eat there, with good reason) and none too clean atmosphere, but you will be glad you did, because it will be an experience of true Middle Eastern food.
So wonderful! Fresh & tasty!
It was some really good food loved it definitely worth drive
Worth a visit, but skip the salads. The kabob combo, sides, chicken salad, and desserts are fantastic, but skip the salads. The avocado lentil salad is overly priced for what is in it: basically lettuce, a spoonful of black lentil and fried chickpeas, an egg, and two avocado wedges. If you're craving a salad with lentils and veggies, go to Cava instead, for a cheaper salad bowl that includes a protein other than egg. Proteins here are +$6.00. That said, the kabob combo is a great deal and includes sides (my vote is for their awesome chicken salad). The cookies and cakes don't have sketchy ingredients and are worth the occasional treat. The rewards program is pretty decent. They really need to rethink the pricing for some of the menu items, particularly the salads. Very friendly and helpful service.
Friendly and helpful staff. The environment at Zoe's is clean, fresh and welcoming.
Great, healthy, and fairly affordable for what you're getting. I highly recommend. The chicken kabobs are my favorite.
Everything is wonderful. The place, the food, the people you will not be sorry
Delicious Greek Cuisine with great service. There is a not one bad tasting thing on that menu!
Unfortunately, I’ve had bad luck with Zoe’s in Chapel Hill. First time I got something good but it was very small for dinner and it wasn’t clear on the menu what size it was supposed to be. I just got a chicken kabob from a carry out order. They forgot my side sauce, the menu said it came with peppers and I barely got any, they were out of slaw so they gave me double turmeric rice which was undercooked. So chicken and undercooked rice with no peppers which were part of what I was really looking forward to. I’m not going there again. It’ disappointing.

Great food. Fast service.
I must say that sometimes I look at my bill and wonder how did my meal cost this much for what I ordered? I don't wonder that at Zoe's Kitchen. Their food is so quality I always feel like I'm getting such a great deal. My wife and I recently found some great Whole 30 company options there.
Delicious lentil soup and Moroccan Chicken Piadini (more spicy than what I usually have but fun!). The fountain drinks are a bit pricey though.
Delicious, healthy food with friendly helpful staff!
Omg really, really good food nice clean friendly place not to expensive. A happy place!
