Asked for chicken wings, fried hard.. it was almost burnt on the outside.. slightly pink on the inside. I had ordered them for my 2 year old since there was no kids menu. The food was definitely not worth the price. On a scaled of 1-10 it was a 6 at best. We could've stayed home and cooked a whole feast. Definitely would not recommend.

Everything was amazing! Moe took great care of us and recommended the French toast with my chicken. Definitely recommend the Chicken with substitute of French toast with all the toppings.
Arrived around 11:15ish and there was plenty of parking! Didn’t have a reservation but was able to be seating without a wait.
There is a 18% gratuity added to all party sizes! It’s already added to your check at the end.

I wish I could leave 10 stars for customer service. I walked in and was greeted with a smile that said, “welcome home”. We were promptly seated and educated on the menu and then came the food. It was freshly prepared and full of flavor. I’m so surprised I didn’t know that this establishment has been in Charlotte for nine years. It’s black owned and I do look for that. Moe assisted us and she kept a smile the entire time. She checked on us with perfect cadence and you would think it was her restaurant! To top it off we were there for my sister’s birthday; Moe asked if we had one minute and came back with a surprise for my sister. I’ll be back again and again…come and check out Don’s!

We walked in and were immediately greeted and sat down. Moe served us and she was great! super sweet, attentive, polite, and had a great vibe and gave us great recommendations! The steak and eggs were so good although my steak could’ve been more tender it was seasoned to perfection! That collard green dip!!! that’s all that needs to be said!!!! My mimosa was excellent as well, with many unique options to choose from. I would 10/10 recommend this spot for brunch and definitely will be back.

Great place to sit at the bar and watch a game on Saturday night while the wife and kids are next door at a concert. The bartender is cool, laid back and made sure I was taken care of. The crab stuffed shrimp is absolutely delicious.

You’ve probably come across this place on social media. I definitely did and was interested to try it! We decided to go for dinner to avoid a busy crowd and not be surrounded by crowds (we went at 7pm on a Saturday). No wait and plenty of seating.
I got a passion fruit lemon drop that was really really good! We ordered the creamy collard greens dip….🤌🏾😮💨. It was the best and most delicious dip I’ve ever had. Like who thought of putting collard greens in a dip?! Whoever did is a genius!! Flavorful, seasoned to perfection, cheesy…perfect! I would go back just for it! 👏🏾
Now, here’s where the knock of the one star comes from. The “red velvet” waffle. It tasted like a regular-ish waffle with red food coloring and cream cheese frosting. I was soooooo disappointed because I was looking forward to a red velvet waffle vs a red colored waffle. Also, the waffle wasn’t fluffy at all like you would expect a waffle. It was dense and heavy. Definitely not up to a waffle standard. But the chicken was on point! We also got a bowl of grits. Ehh it was meh. Don’t get me wrong, it was seasoned well but I couldn’t get past the graininess of it. But it could just be me super picky. I like my grits creamy.
I definitely wanna go back for another visit to try a couple more items I was interested in! Not the waffle, unless they got a regular waffle. But hey, just my opinion! Someone else might love it!

Been wanting try this place for brunch. The service was ok. We waited a while to get a server, but I appreciate the hostess apologizing stating she was busy cleaning tables and forget to tell the server about us. I understand and appreciate the apology. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my food was just lukewarm. Our server asked was everything ok and I stated it would be better if it my food came out hot. She offered to bring me a fresh order. I told her she didn't have to, but she insisted, so I accepted and that new bowl of shrimp and grits was still lukewarm, just a little warmer, but not hot. My level of a hot food may be high, the food just wasn't hot. The flavor was ok. My friend got the greens and wings and found them to ok.
