I just ordered Okro soup and pounded yam from here and couldn’t even eat more than 2 bites. This soup is so disgusting and tastes old or spoiled. The pounded yam was burnt or old and re warmed. I would not recommend ordering from this restaurant… I’ll stick to Samoha African Cuisine !

Was visiting from Chicago and chose to eat some food from there to break my fast during Ramadan. I really had a taste for African food and was starving after the sun had set. Ordered Efo Riro and pounded yam. The staff was very friendly and nice but when I got back to my hotel, I was thoroughly disappointed in the meal, which is hard to disappoint someone who’s been fasting all day. Couldn’t even finish it. The pounded yam was dry, lumpy and tasted funny almost like it was old… not fresh. The Efo Riro had ZERO spice / heat and the flavor was bland. Food didn’t taste fresh either. Atmosphere was nice and I could tell they were trying to liven the place up but it seemed like this place is more about promoting a party atmosphere with food as an afterthought. Probably better suited for someone who wants to party, drink and have a lil food so they don’t drink on an empty stomach.

Didn't eat. Walked in and expected what we saw in photos, it is a dark doom with very loud music. Only food is eggs, waffles and chicken wings.. unsure what changed between now and 6 months ago, but don't bother visiting if you are looking to try African food.

The fufu was terrible. Wrapped in plastic wrap and tasted horrible. The goat in the sauce was nothing but bones. My party of set around something like a coffee table.

The Fish Plantains and Spinach dish was really good. ZI would get that again. Somie the Server was nice and patience with my husband and I. We did not get rushed but felt welcome. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try something different to eat and be treated with kindness.

First & foremost the place is very clean. Once you walk in, the interior design of the place is comforting with a touch of class. The food was immaculate but most importantly well seasoned. I recommend the suya cheesesteak as that was my favorite. Talk about flavorful! It was giving the African version of a Philly cheesesteak. Warm bun, onions, peppers & a great portion of meat. Can’t forget the welcoming staff & Somie herself. I love an owner who’s very in touch with their business. I appreciate the hospitality.

My family and I ate at in the lounge area and the music wasn’t too loud but very enjoyable. On top of that the food came out hot and fast and you could taste the flavors in every bite. Will be returning and even tho they are a West African bar the wings are delicious.Kid-friendliness: My daughter loved the fufu and orka soup.

My boyfriend said enjoyed the food, the menu was very easy to understand especially if you're a lover of trying all kinds of foods from any ethnicity. This place is nice looking inside and clean. Staff makes you feel very welcome and doesn't rush you at all. We ate lunch here and I must say I can NOT complain about anything ????

First time experiencing true West African food and I cannot be more pleased! The flavors of the Suya with the jollof rice and plantains were out of this world! And please do not get me started on the fufu and egusi! If you love an umami flavor egusi is for you! Everything was finger licking good! The service was personable and inviting! I know I will definitely be back when we return to Charlotte!

This is America we like BIG portions sizes, for the price you pay you would think it would be enough to fill you up. Well think again. Toddlers size portions is all they serve. I see they even changed their name. Different name same overly salty dry baby size food. I should have just gone to Mama Gees.
