I was a little worried reading the reviews, but went for it anyways and honestly I’m glad I did. The food was hot, fresh and well seasoned. My waitress was friendly and humorous. Some “city people” just way too picky.

Akahana is always consistent. Great sushi, good prices and friendly staff keep me coming back. Really enjoyed the Furious Dragon Roll, Eliz Roll and Fried Oreo this past visit.

My adult son loves Akahana. We ordered sushi rolls because they are always Bogo. They were good and plenty. The fish in and in the rolls tasted fresh. We lived in Tokyo for a year and have authentic sushi to compare. Oishi desu!!! The spicy, not hot, just flavorful edamame were outstanding. Felt like a well-worn diner, but don't put your chopsticks away on that count! We will go again.

The variety of sushi options is as fantastic as it is delicious! Their entire menu is wonderful. Definitely a Plaza Midwood staple!

The veggie rolls and Sakura drop roll were delicious. The restaurant was clean and service was excellent.

Jalapeno hamachi with ponzu is so well done. Had it twice and prefer it when the chef gives each piece cucumber instead of just one garnish.

I just got this place on a whim. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and my food was ready when it was supposed to be. But... my Rolls barely have any flavor. I saw a couple other reviews (afterwards) noting this. You guys might want to find a different supplier if this is reoccurring. Nothing tastes like anything except mush. Even my pieces of belly sushi... nothing. On a lesser note I didn't get any soy sauce on my to go bag. That prob would have helped to douse it in salt. Maybe there's a basket for me to grab and I missed it. Fair. Basically I'm really disappointed. I hate giving subpar reviews as much as I hate eating sub par food

Food is fine; would not be if the rolls weren’t always half price, which itself makes no sense. They should do themselves a favor do takeout only; their front of house staff is miserable to be served by.
