Had such a great time here! I can’t get enough of their tuna. They switch it up sometimes, and it surprises me in the best way every time. Everything was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

I placed a big order to go on Monday, and I paid the entire total PLUS the automatic 10% gratuity on takeout orders over $60. The total was $86.66 or something.

When I arrived home, I saw that I had a voicemail from the restaurant telling me that my udon had been packed without the noodles. I called back, and the person working apologized, saying that there was a trainer working and she mispacked my order. He then said I could either drive back and pick up the noodles or I could get a refund on the udon. I obviously picked the refund because I didn’t want to drive back just to pick up the noodles.

But then, I realized that almost my entire order was wrong. And worse yet, it had a cucumber roll that I just couldn’t eat at all. I had specifically left notes for cucumber to be excluded from my food because I quite literally CANNOT eat them. When I called back again, the same person apologized again for the trainee’s mistake and assured me that I would be refunded swiftly.

Two days passed, and I called the restaurant Wednesday evening because I had been charged the full amount for my order with no adjustments or any refund. The girl who spoke to me on the phone asked the manager on duty, and she told me that the higher up manager(???) was supposed to refund me but they FORGOT!!! And she said the manager would refund me the next day because they were out. Then, she told me if I didn’t get my refund, I should just COME TO THE STORE TO TALK TO SOMEONE HIGHER UP IN PERSON.

Why would I want to waste my time driving back to the store to force the manager into giving me the refund that I was told on Monday that I would receive promptly???

Well, today is THURSDAY, and I still have not been refunded for the food I didn’t get in my order.

I am not one to leave reviews often unless it can be a good one, but this place isn't the spot anymore. I used to go here a long time ago and was in the area during lunch and stopped in. Man, what a disappointment.

Went to the restroom, and it was half out of order. Sat down, and water was dripping from the ceiling into my thigh. Yuck.

Noticed roach bait traps, so maybe that is a good sign considering the more recent post I wish I had seen. Interestingly, their sanitation score was a 96.6.

Ordered spring rolls, dripping with grease.
Got some sushi rolls. They are okay. Nothing too impressive. Found some fish bones.

Noticed our surroundings were covered with thick dust. Pretty gross.

The service though was totally fine!

I do wish I could get my $60 back.

The other akahana locations around the area are pretty nice. It's disappointing that this OG has gone down hill so much. Good luck.

I was a little worried reading the reviews, but went for it anyways and honestly I’m glad I did. The food was hot, fresh and well seasoned. My waitress was friendly and humorous. Some “city people” just way too picky.

Akahana is always consistent. Great sushi, good prices and friendly staff keep me coming back. Really enjoyed the Furious Dragon Roll, Eliz Roll and Fried Oreo this past visit.

My adult son loves Akahana. We ordered sushi rolls because they are always Bogo. They were good and plenty. The fish in and in the rolls tasted fresh. We lived in Tokyo for a year and have authentic sushi to compare. Oishi desu!!! The spicy, not hot, just flavorful edamame were outstanding. Felt like a well-worn diner, but don't put your chopsticks away on that count! We will go again.
