Came with the family as they were craving Reuben sandwiches. One of us had been here before and mentioned they have the best Reuben in Charlotte. I ended up trying the veggie burger and it was ok - missing a sauce to help bring all the ingredients and flavors together. However, everyone else had the Reuben and the sandwich was very delicious. They really raised the standard of what a Reuben should taste like! You get the option of a side so in between all of us we tried steamed vegetables, cajun fries and onion rings. All very tasty. We also shared the brownie with fudge for dessert which was very delicious too. I’d recommend coming here and would come back again.

My mom and my sister are from Korea. They loved the wings and stragonoff. It was palatable and tasteful. The specials with meatloaf and mash potato and gravy were excellent. The beer was amazing as well!

Just what we needed. Tucked away in the quaint 4th ward of uptown charlotte, this pub boasts of Boston in a southern city. An oasis for beer drinkers and stroganoff chasers. A mist see if you’ve been to uptown a few times and are looking for the hidden gems. Also, a tight squeeze so large groups may have trouble.

Not….what I was hoping. It was LOUD. It had to have a big television screen (why?), the wait staff are dressed like they are going mud boggin. But, if that is the kind of dining experience you thrive in you will like this place. This restaurant needs a new vision. It’s not unique as it thinks it is. It’s the same as any loud, sports bar, toooo casual place as any where. It’s a shame as it has potential.

Upon entering this pub, one cannot help but feel at ease with the casual and eclectic environment. The decor and history of the location is immediately evident, with plenty of character.
If this one location were used to summarize the entirety of Charlotte I would say they did their City proud. The neighborhood and the building as well as the interior are all welcoming.
Our stop at Alexander Michaels was a simple break from a long drive, desiring some comforting and delicious food. The waitress was quick to have us seated and we were truly thankful for how attentive she was! No issues at all!
For our order, we had the half pound burger medium well with cheddar, mayonnaise, lettuce, pickles and tomato. Accompanied with a side of onion rings.
For myself I looked forward to the Reuben with extra crispy french fries.
I was delighted to hear that for desserts they had locally made sweets. We opted for Carrot Cake.
The burger was delivered perfectly cooked with a side of crispy and piping. Hot onion rings. Absolutely delicious and without fault !
The Reuben with their Swiss sauerkraut, thousand island and corned beef was extremely delicious.
Lastly, the carrot cake which we saved for later was delicious and worth every calorie, it could have used one more layer in my opinion, decadence being the heart of any good dessert!
Now for what I like to call positive critique, I would love to see the menu up front say how much meat is on the Reuben and offer extra meat for an upfront declared price. For my Reuben I was admittedly disappointed with the amount of meat, however the waitress was quick to get more brought out for the extra coin. I believe this was worth every penny!
If I ever find myself in Charlotte will I go again?! That'd be two thumbs up and a satisfied "Hell Yeah!"

Every time I visit Charlotte, NC, I have to stop for the chicken quesadilla, fries, and a Long Island iced tea. I love Alexander’s vibe!!!
