Great service, fun neighborhood vibe. The only downside was that my London Broil meat was tough. Husband like what he got. We'd go again.

I read about this while working downtown Charlotte on Trade Street. Alexander Michael's looked like a short walk on the map so we hoofed it. We had forgot Charlotte has hills, being from Dallas this is not a problem. My wife and I had the burger and our friend had the Rueben. Our burgers were good, I'm glad that we went there. If I had of had the sandwich our friend had I think I would have been disappointed. It looked kind of light in the meat department, the last Rueben I had was stuffed with corn beef. I still recommend the burger and I would like to check out the Rueben next time I try this place.

A wonderful neighborhood pub set in the 4th Ward. We walked from our hotel experiencing the change from city to quiet historic neighborhood. Even late on a Wednesday, it was quite busy and we waited a bit for a table. The food was delicious and service was friendly. I'm glad we found this hidden gem.

Love this place. Old school pub with great service and great food.I had the Ruben and I loved it. The others in my party had the catfish, excellent, and the London broil sandwich also delicious. The drinks are wonderful.

Was looking forward to trying this restaurant as i live just a block away. I came in with my service dog and could immediately tell he was not welcome. In fact, during my meal, i was told that he had to be completely under the table so he could be "out of site". I was not even offered a desert and was just given the check. Was obviously rushed out of the restaurant.Cajon crab soup was tasty but had very little crab. House chardonnay was fine. The blackened catfish plate was very good, fish was blackened but not dry. I'd recommend this to anyone.Atmosphere could have been great...I will not return.

I loved this restaurant! It was built in 1890 and it was a general store back then. It's located in Charlotte's historic 4th ward. The restaurant has a cozy warm feeling. The food was excellent and fairly priced. I will definitely be back.

Had a great lunch today at a hidden away little neighborhood bar called "Alexander Michaels" in the 4th ward. . The minute you open the door you are transported to the "Cheers" bar. This cool historic place was really busy but the bartender didn't let that stop him from greeting us immediately and made sure we were taken care of at the bar which in itself was so interesting. I ordered a Ruben sandwich which was juicy and the other order was a London Broil sandwich which was tender and came with a hoagie roll. Both were delicious. I would definitely recommend this cool place.

One of our favorite restaurants in Charlotte! The incredible food, atmosphere, & staff are the top reasons! Very neat spot in 4th ward Uptown! Highly recommend the burger, Cajun fries, crab soup, & more!

I've only been here once and just had a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and tomatoe, but it was the best grilled cheese I've had in a long time. Very busy and a bit too loud for a business lunch, but we only waited a few minutes for a table at noon and the service was good. Will definitely be back!

The surprise of the night was the beautiful side salad with very fresh spring mix, big chunks of cucumber, good grape tomatoes, and big slices of red onion with a lovely ranch dressing on the side. Kiddo ordered the London Broil platter with fries and was too full to finish it. Husband ordered fried pickles which (of our dishes) was the last favorite and we didn't finish it. I ordered the Ruben with broccoli slaw on the side. The slaw was definitely lightly dressed and very fresh. No reservations and all of the tables were full by 5pm on a Saturday night. I would highly recommend lunch here or coming early for dinner. We lucked into a table for three right before 4:45 but the party after us had to wait about 20 minutes for a table to open up. Do not order the bottle of Pinot noir. It's pretty gross. They should omit that from their menu entirely. They don't have decanters, either. Go for beer or cocktails and skip the wines.Parking: Limited number of spots to park for free for under 2 hours.
