Great pastries, sandwiches, and coffee!
It's quite an experience to go to Amelie's. First of all, the atmosphere is amazing. The restaurant is quite literally filled with decorations that reflect the French culture like a partial Eiffel Tower, Napoleon portraits, macaroons hanging from the ceiling, a Mona Lisa painting, etc. The seating is very unique. We sat around a table with a lighted tree in the middle. There is so much art on the walls that it is like being in the Louvre. The food was delicious, fresh, and flavorful.

This place is popular for their pastries which look good although I didn't try them. We tried having breakfast here and it was complete crap! If you want a pastry fine but don't waste your time on their breakfast.

So the last time I went to amalies was 6 years ago somewhere around Noda I think they had a location but this is close to my apartment so I decided to come here for a coffee. The last time I was at amelies i remember having the most delicious coffee and enjoying the atmosphere. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful in this location as well and the vibes are very happy from the customers. The line was long but it moved quickly. The guy who packaged my pumpkin cheesecake macaron was nice and so was the girl at the register. I also got a salted caramel mocha. The lady who was making the drinks seemed a little stressed, I could feel her vibe since it was an open kitchen. She seemed a little busy while also answering the phone. I paid to put whipped cream and caramel drizzle in my drink as well but she didn’t and I didnt really feel like asking her to redo it since she redid the lady’s drinks before me apparently they weren’t right as well. I think she could use another person in her corner for help on a Saturday morning so she is not overworked and stretched thin. But my coffee was still delicious and the macaron was great. I think you guys should get cuter cups to go with esthetic as well.

A bit stiff service at the counter who couldn't handle a joke in French.
Spacious store with many choices, but American pricey. Paid $24 for a simple wrap and soup.

We were unhappy with our breakfast here. For 33 dollars, plus the tip they wanted for self-service, the brioche french toast was thin and dried-out and barely edible. The breakfast sandwhich was just okay. Even the macaroon was just okay. Only bother to go here for the coffee.
Amazing spot you must visit while in Uptown. The pastry selection was unreal. Food, coffee, and dessert were all top notch. The atmosphere is truly something special, with so much to see. Do yourself a favor and stop in!
