Barcelona Wine Bar

We held my daughter’s celebratory graduation dinner from UNCC at Barcelona Wine Bar this past weekend, and it was absolutely perfect! I planned the event far in advance with Tiana, their Sales & Events Manager, and she was thorough, communicative and handled it all like a pro, including a last minute change to the menu that she texted to me (smart). She arranged for printed menus with the event name (lovely detail!) and because they can’t include mussels, her favorite, on an event menu (understandable), they surprised us and sent her some anyway on the house. Our main server (I’m blanking on her name so sorry we love you so much!!) and our bar servers, Morgan and Justin (who we kept busy 🤣), should win personality of the year awards for their wit, humor, charm and skill (for instance, Morgan wowed us with his tapas plate stacking ability and made sure to holler in my Mama’s good ear when he spoke 🤣). It was great fun, and the food was DELISH!! Highly recommend for events and also looks like a fun place to just hang out!

Food and atmosphere are amazing here, great spot for a date night or special occasion. Prices are somewhat high but worth it for the quality and atmosphere. Service is usually pretty great, but can be a bit busy sometimes slowing things down a bit.

Great tapas spot. Lots of options and great atmosphere. Patatas bravas are some of the best I’ve had in the US. Croquettes were great too. Didn’t get any wine but seem to have a wide selection of Spanish wines including select flights. Wish they gave you complimentary bread for the leftover butter/oil from the gambas.

Taylor is the best bartender in South End. She is very attentive. The service at the bar is phenomenal. It’s a shame that’s the calamari was removed from the menu though. They were delicious.

Air Conditioning was not working and it was miserably hot and loud. Food was mostly average with a few exceptions. Spent $125 for a flight of wine, and two Queen's Feast meals. Won't be back.

I LOVE this place. Food is amaizing, wine as well. Stuff is friendly and welcoming.

The Food was over a 5. But I really wanted to give a 4 for the atmosphere because this place is so LOUD but it was queens feast and such a great young vibe. Being 63 I guess we are old and need quiet!!! However the food was excellent and the service was top notch. Parking was a breeze (just across the street) We will definitely be back soon!!! maybe even next week... it was that good.

Food and service are exceptional. Tapas are on the smaller side, but great flavors. Both Paella dishes we ordered were cooked to perfection.
It is EXTREMELY LOUD however. Our party had difficultly with conversations the entire time, even though we were within a foot of each other. It’s enough to be a problem to those with hearing issues or wanting a more intimate setting.

I was visiting Charlotte and had a wonderful evening with friends at the Barcelona Wine Bar. The food and service were outstanding. I especially wanted to mention their excellent customer service: I forgot my sunglasses and recognized this on my way back home to Atlanta. So I called them and they sent my sunglasses to my home free of charge. Thank you for this excellent experience and the shipping!
I will definitely visit the Barcelona Bar again & highly recommend a visit to everyone.

The food was outstanding. I had the stuffed dates (6/10), swordfish(9/10), chicken thigh (10/10), carrots (10/10). I felt like the dates were slightly out of balance, just a bit too sweet overall. The fish and chicken and carrots were all just fabulous. Every sauce was so delicious. I highly recommend this place depending on what you are looking for. The atmosphere is different depending on where you sit, because the inside feels totally different than the outside. Inside the restaurant is very very loud with industrial loft type furniture. I felt like the noise level was really high due to the concrete floors and abundant metal throughout the design and the music level. The outside had about 8 to 10 tables with lots of umbrellas up for shade. After sunset they light candles, so the ambience was really nice. The outside patio was also much quieter. They had 80s music playing low/mid level. I was originally sitting at a table right by the exit door, but it was really stifling. The waiter noticed me fanning myself and suggested that I move over by the fan. That helped immensely. That corner just must be in a dead air area. If I recommend anything to the restaurant it would be to add more fans out there. With the Charlotte Humidity seems fans are an absolute must when sitting outside in July.

My friends and I came here for tapas and sangria for my bachelorette weekend. We had the best time!! Our waitress, Abbie, was so helpful and made sure we got the best bang for our buck. She bought us some drinks to celebrate, and had great recommendations throughout the night. The staff was amazing and the manager also bought us drinks and delivered them in a fun, creative way. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be returning soon!
