I came here for lunch the other week with a coworker. We made reservations and were immediately seated. It was a good thing as the restaurant was packed. I'm not a huge fan of their setup, though, as the tables are on top of one another, and it was very loud.I ordered the crab cakes, which came with vegetables and french fries. The crab cakes were just standard with decent flavor. The vegetables, on the other hand, were probably some of the most flavorful vegetables that I have had.Overall, it was not a bad lunch, but I don't have a huge desire to go back for just an okay lunch at what is supposed to be a nicer restaurant.

Outstanding! Off the charts! And our new favorite downtown restaurant. It could not have been better. Four of us went to lunch before the ballet, and not only was the food. Outstanding, each of us had something different, and it was superb, and the wait staff could not have been better. Thank you for making it our new favorite place.

The atmosphere was perfect; the food was incredible, and the service could not have been better. I could not recommend Bernardin's more.

Bernardin's is one of our favorite restaurants. They always have good gluten free options and my wife has to eat gf. The service on this occasion was not great at all. The food was good but not great. It was really loud due to a couple large groups (which I understand is not the restaurant's fault.

First time to Bernardin's. Despite only one other couple in the restaurant we waited 10+ minutes before our server came by “apologizing”. We ordered our meal and were served by another staffer for the meal and bread. Server never came back to refill drinks or ask how the meal was. Although the food was fine ( nothing exceptional) the lack of service by Alex made for a disappointing meal for this price point. He tossed our leftovers on the table along with the bill. We did not see him wait on any other tables unlike the other servers. Bernardin's you need to evaluate this employee. We unfortunately won't be back. There are far too many great restaurants in this city.

Definitely at the top of our list for lunch or a nice dinner. The Duck Spring Rolls, crab cakes, and shrimp curry are so good! Actually, everything always is. Can't go wrong here ever!!

Disappointed. For a nice restaurant, the service was inferior. Our waitress took our drink order and then disappeared for 20 minutes. She went on to wait on a table or 8, instead of bringing us our drinks to make waiting feel better. She is gone till I finally wave her over and ask if we could have our drinks. She said I will but I have to take care of this first. So we waited a bit longer. She apologized but it felt like a simple staff training is missing here. At least give your customers a drink if you are going to leave them unattended for a while and even if you aren't. Seems like service 101. Maybe poor training of the staff. The manager in sight, not noticing this could have stepped in to correct this rudeness. Won't return or recommend it. Sad because it is a pretty ambiance. The food was good but not great. The fish was not cooked through and the table next to us also sent food back.

Me and my fiancé absolutely love Bernardins! We had our first date at this restaurant about 3 years ago. We recently went with our baby for Valentine's Day. The service was amazing they went above and beyond to make sure our reservations were accommodating for us with a small baby..... and of course the food was delicious as always! Chefs kiss ??

Very nice! We really enjoyed the food, and service was wonderful. Pretty interesting eating Emu. Cooked medium and it was pretty tasty! Not gamey at all. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly and those garlic mashed potatoes were so good. The Brussels were absolutely awesome too!!! We will definitely be back.

We chose this for our Valentine's dinner while on a business trip to Charlotte, from a list of recommendations from our hotel, the Marriott. I had checked Yelp, and a few other review spots that said the food was terrific, so I had high hopes. The restaurant is pretty small, and the tables are definitely tiny. Not necessarily horrible, but makes the experience less enjoyable when there isn't much room on the table. My husband had the scallops with risotto, which was outstanding. I chose the goat cheese ravioli because it sounded wonderful....which it could've been... if it hadn't been completely drowned in a melted cheese sauce (Brie?) I had expected goat cheese stuffed raviolis with a delicate sauce, but instead it was covered in a very heavy, thick cheesy sauce. It literally gave me a stomachache for hours after I ate there ?. It wasn't terrible, it just wasn't the fantastic meal I had anticipated. So, out of our two dinner choices, my husband's was a 10 and mine was about a 6.5. Unfortunately, I have to give an overall low rating to this restaurant simply because our server left a lot to be desired. She was nice, but a VERY young girl, very timid; when she spoke, it was an inaudible monotone. I asked her for a wine recommendation with my dinner and she said she didn't know because she wasn't 21 yet and can't drink. I was like OK(?!) Her main skill set seemed to be bringing the dishes and setting them on the table. For me, when I eat at a high-end restaurant that takes its menu seriously, I expect a seasoned, experienced server who can interact a little bit, answer questions about the menu, and make recommendations. This girl seemed like she maybe had worked at a coffee shop before working here. Overall, based on the fact my husband got a great meal we would try it again - but hopefully we would get a better server.
