First time here- omg!! I’m sick with the flu and baby, they had my favorite Dominican soup (sancocho). The soup made me feel so much better and it was so delicious, I’ll be back when my taste and smell comes back, I need to try some more food from them. LOL!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Bohio Típico Restaurant inside Compare Foods Supermarket on Sunset Rd.

I stood at the counter for over five minutes without being greeted or acknowledged. During that time, a Spanish-speaking couple walked up behind me. The employee, a young Spanish woman immediately greeted them and attempted to take their order while completely ignoring me, even though I had been waiting first.

To their credit, the couple kindly told her that I was next. Instead of correcting the situation, the employee walked away and still did not take my order when I attempted to speak. I was left standing there, embarrassed and confused, ultimately unable to place an order at all so I left.

This experience felt biased, disrespectful, and unwelcoming, especially as an African American customer. No one should be made to feel invisible or disregarded while simply trying to order food. Basic customer service, acknowledgment, fairness, and respect, should be extended to everyone regardless of race or language.

I truly hope management takes this matter seriously, provides proper customer service training, and ensures that all customers are treated equally and with dignity. No one should leave a business feeling the way I did today!

Bohio Típico is truly a good place, especially when it comes to their buffet. The variety of dishes, the atmosphere, and the kindness of the employees make the experience even better — everyone is genuinely friendly and attentive, which adds a special touch to the visit.
The only thing that didn’t quite meet expectations this time was the pastel en hoja; it lacked the flavor and quality I was hoping for. However, everything else balanced the experience beautifully.
