Food was delicious. Very long wait. We were a group of 2 so we had the choice between waiting 30 min for bar seating or over an hour for dining room table. We chose bar seating. It was worth it. I would definitely try more food next time, but I wasn’t sure exactly what everything was. The hot chai was really good. We got the butter chicken and shared it.

$15 for a little bit of rice and ONE lamb skewer. I have never been to an Indian restaurant with portions like this. The cashier suggested the rice bowl, stating it was filling. The flavor of the food was decent. Rice is the cheapest thing to serve and if you are going to want customers to leave good reviews and come back, serve more food so that they don’t leave your restaurant hungry.

I can honestly say this is my most favorite meal in all of Charlotte! Oh Botiwalla, your lamb is the best I’ve ever had in my life! I have had the Lamb Sliders on many occasions including celebrating my birthdays. They are honestly bigger than you would expect and make for perfect leftovers if you are trying to make to the flavors last. It definitely has a kick, a crunch, a sauce, and everything heavenly. The manager at is kind, accommodating, and fun to chat with. I have introduced many people to this find among the cheery OH (Optimist Hall). The lamb skewers and chai tea are also winners! Do yourself a favor and go tonight :)

I ordered wings and a naan chicken wrap, savory and delicious! The sauces were fantastic as well. Cute posters, decor, and ads to look at as well as a small shop. Can’t wait to take my family.

Absolutely loved my experience at Botiwalla in Optimist Hall! The vibe is energetic and welcoming — the perfect mix of modern and nostalgic Indian street-style flair. I ordered the Mumbai Margarita and the Lamb Sliders, and both were outstanding. The margarita had the perfect tangy-sweet kick with a fun Mumbai twist, and the lamb sliders were juicy, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. You can taste the care and creativity in every bite. Highly recommend this spot — can’t wait to come back and try more!

Honestly, obsessed with this place. I’ve been in CLT for almost 3 years, and just had Botiwalla 3 weeks ago & then of course, I’ve had it two days in a row now. Read and don’t judge people!

It’s always fresh. Always fast. And tastes absolutely delicious. Like, it’s so good.

I am absolutely loving this place. The portions sizes are amazing and the food is delicious. I love the different drinks as well and from what people have told me it is very authentic as well.
Everything has great flavor and is extremely well cooked. My go to is the Chicken Tikka rice bowl. It had so many wonderful flavors with a bit of a kick.
Also the staff is very kind and helpful when you have questions about things.
AND I think the prices are very good too. Not too expensive like other places inside Optimist Hall.

First time in optimist hall. I walked by looking around at everything and the food smelt so good had to stop by and try. I got the chicken Tikka Roll. Very pleased and Cashier was extremely nice.

This truly is a must go in Charlotte. Great food with explosive flavor; the staff is very nice and accommodating. Such a great experience, will visit again next time I’m in town.
