We went with tapas and the food was just okay. One new menu item we ordered was branzino. The white sauce disguised the fact that they're were bone chunks still attached to the fish and we both almost choked on our first bites. It was one of our last items so it didn't color our assessment of the other courses.
Great server. Loved the food . Sorry they didn't have the pear. Otherwise very good all around.
Service was slow and food was meh. Dined with three friends who I haven't seen in a long time. Several of them were visiting from out of state so I'd hoped for a very nice fun evening. The waiter was less than attentive. We had to ask someone else to actually bring our drinks over. We ordered several tapas and a paella. The tapas were good, but the paella was undercooked for the rice and the seafood was mushy. We even said something to the waiter, but he just sort of brushed it off and said he would tell the chef. Frankly, it was probably the worst paella I've ever eaten. I've been to multiple locations of this restaurant and it was so much better. I'm not sure I'll ever come back to the one in Charlotte.
Food was excellent and we ordered 6 different tapas and each of them was outstanding with different flavor profiles!
I had a fantastic dining experience at Bulla! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious—each dish was thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor. Whether you're into classics or trying something new, the menu offers something for everyone. A special shoutout to Noemy, our server, who truly made the evening even more enjoyable. She was attentive, kind, and had such a lovely energy. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. I'll definitely be coming back again—next time with a group of friends so they can enjoy it too. Highly recommend!
The seafood paella was very good and enough for three people. The pan y tomate appetizer was a disappointment - most of the bread was burnt and we asked for a replacement of that portion. The hostess and wait person were very courteous, but we had to flag down our wait person after we were served about the burnt bread and again for salt. Perhaps short of staff.
We love the vegetarian options. The lunch special with half vegetarian sandwich was perfect.
Sunday brunch with three friends. We split one of the potato dishes and had a flatbread and the steak. Steak had a little bit of a different flavor to it? I also had two bloody Mary's, which were delicious and a mimosa. Service was very good. One loud table by us, which was somewhat distracting. Birthday celebration, and so complementary churros were brought out... Which is very nice, but not sure I would order and pay for them expected a little bit more of a cinnamon flavor?
Bulla has always been a go to for brunch. Disappointed that they no longer have the pick three but still great deals. The lemon blueberry pancakes are the best l!!
Pros: The food was excellent. Server was great. Cons: service was slow. Staff was slow to seat us and the food was was slow to come out. The restaurant didn't seem that full, so I'm not sure if they were understaffed in kitchen or what. There was also an condensation issue with the ceiling vents and water was dripping right next to me.

Food, service, and drinks were all very good. Removed one star due to restaurant current health rating of 88. The Red wine sangria was amazing and I highly recommend it.
We usually have a good experience at Bulla, but this time it took forever to get our food. When a manager came by our table to inquire about our experience thus far, I told him that, although Cami our server, was very attentive, we had been waiting for our food for over 15-20 minutes. He immediately took care of the situation, and all our food arrived, unfortunately, at the same time, appetizers and main dishes. That said, we have been to Bulla many times, and this is the first time we've had a bad experience. So we'll be back, but with a keen sense of alert to avoid a repetition of this experience.
Great service, delicious food, thanks luciana

Loved the food. The gazpacho and ceviche were absolutely delicious. The tortilla española and avocado toast were okay too. Would definitely go back.
Bulla Gastrobar had so many options to get it right...and didn't. One saving grace was the manager, who resolved an issue we had. Other than that, overpriced, terrible service, average food and rip off on the drinks. We ate at Bulla Gastrobar in Dallas, TX and it was fabulous. We were quite disappointed with this experience in Charlotte!
