This was our 2nd time to Burtons and unfortunately we will not be back or recommending to anyone. Multiple issues with this visit. For starters, it took 10 minutes for a server to greet us at our high top. Next, we ordered an appetizer that came out with our entrees. Third, I ordered salmon cooked well and it was rare. Fourth, I was never able to send it back to the kitchen because our server didn’t check on us until 10-15 mins after receiving our food. The vegetable bowl was also overfilled with roasted red peppers to the point that I was picking them out. Finally, we never saw our server again and paid at the hostess stand. The female hostesses weren’t exactly peaches, either. $100 meal with no alcoholic beverages. Would absolutely not recommend.

I’ve been to several Burtons in the Virginia/Maryland area but this location in Charlotte was my best experience and it was because of our wait staff, specifically Julie. Julie was very attentive and that was very much appreciated. And of course the gluten free options are always great!
If you're looking for a party that has allergies this is the restaurant for you. The waiter gave a very concise explanation of the process that they use for the cooking including what oils and frying techniques they use.
The restaurant is made with Celiac's disease in mind so if you have a gluten allergy this is especially good for you. It's not the only ones either, as soy and peanut allergies are taken into consideration as well.

As someone with multiple food allergies, I take food safety very seriously. Before ordering, I provided a list of my allergies, including corn, which is one of my most severe allergies and requires me to carry an EpiPen.
After reviewing my allergies, I received a call informing me that the restaurant fries tortilla chips in the same fryer oil used for other items and asked if I still wanted my fries. I appreciated the honesty from the employee, but this was concerning because I have previously been told on two separate occasions that there was no dedicated fryer. The information provided to me has been inconsistent.
I have not eaten here in several months, but learning that corn products are fried in the same oil raises significant concerns about cross-contamination for customers with serious food allergies—not just gluten sensitivities.
Businesses do not have to accommodate every allergy, but they should provide accurate information so customers can make informed decisions about their safety. For that reason, I will not be ordering from this restaurant again.

The food was delicious, and our server was very friendly, attentive, and kind. Unfortunately, our experience with the host stand was disappointing. We waited about an hour for a table and went inside several times to check on our status. No one ever notified us that a table was available. It seemed the host only realized we were still waiting after we came inside again and then gave us a table.
This left us wondering whether we would have ever been seated if we hadn’t continued checking in ourselves. While the food and service at the table were excellent, the waitlist management could definitely be improved. If you’re planning to dine here during busy times, be prepared for a potentially long wait and consider checking in frequently to make sure you haven’t been overlooked
