I was very disappointed during my visit and I had been a couple times before and it was amazing food but this past Sunday 03/30/2025 around 2 pm was the worse visit ever. We arrived and one side had all the chairs up and we were sat on the opposite side. The music was playing to loud and there was only one table other than ours. The server was super friendly. He was great. The atmosphere was not the best and looked like it wasn't well kept. Bathrooms where not as clean as they usually were. The food rice looked like it was just reheated in the microwave and the beans with cheese tasted kind of weird. We were charged the 15% for tip and it does say it on the menu but It was 2 adults, 2 children, and an 11 month old. Which the 11 month didn't eat. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Went to this restaurant on Cinco De Mayo. Arrived at 5:30 PM to an empty restaurant other than a couple of patrons sitting at the bar. We taken to a booth in the empty dining room given a couple of menus and immediately greeted by our server Dessi. She inquired our beverage order and I asked her the beer offerings. I ordered a Corona ($4.00) and my wife ordered a Modelo ($4.00) Beers were served quickly with a chilled beer mug as requested. Dessi also brought chips with three salsas (red, pico and tomatillo) I really enjoyed the pico de gallo but it needed some fresh cilantro to enhance the flavors. We ordered our entree. After driving past this restaurant for the past two years on my back and forth to Charlotte and seeing its name Carnitas I was primed to order a plate of my favorite Mexican dish Carnitas ($12.00) and my wife ordered the Tilapia ($13.75). I asked for flour tortillas with my order. Food was served quickly. My pork carnitas was pulled, served with rice, beans and fried cactus. The pork didn't have much flavor and was dry. I prefer carnitas when served in chunks. My wife enjoyed her tilapia, strong garlic. Overall our server Dessi was friendly and our experience ok. The restaurant is in need of some TLC and or a visit from Restaurant Impossible. Although the restaurant received a score of 98 on their health inspection there are obvious areas of the restaurant that need a good scrub down.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this restaurant in East Charlotte, an area known for ethnic restaurants from Central America. The menu was a mix of Tex-Mex and authentic dishes. The variety of salsas brought to the table was a nice surprise. Tripe, tongue, and head meat are available for those who want an authentic experience and can be selected for many dishes. There was also a breakfast menu. I will definitely go back to try more of the items available. The prices were very reasonable. Our waitress made us feel welcome in both Spanish and English.

Friendly service. The food is not the highest level Mexican food, but it‘s okay for a fast dinner. We had better and fresher food in other Mexican restaurants

I went here one evening because a friend recommended the restaurant as "authentic Mexican," which it may be. My wife and I got "plates" which came with refried beans, rice and a lettuce-plus salad in the middle of the plate. Nothing special. My main dish was fajitas with a mix of beef, chicken and shrimp. The taste was good, but the meat was all tough -- overcooked. My wife had the carnitas, which she said was good. They serve beer, but not wine -- not sure about mixed drinks. The room is fairly large and very clean, and the servers were friendly. Service was slow, however, because, I suppose, everything is cooked to order (when we were there the restaurant was not busy). Prices are very reasonable. So, if you're nearby and want some Mexican food, go for it. But don't expect to be knocked out.
