Carolina Ale House - Waverly

The roach staring at us from the planter box inches from our food was YUCK! The waitress didn't really seem to care and I'm not even sure she told the manager.
It is very loud, the waitress forgot part of my order and the roach all combine to make this a restaurant to avoid.

Food was okay, service was terrible. I’m vegetarian and limited in options so I got cheese and spinach dip with a side of mashed potatoes and the server said she’d seen those ordered together before and then added for a baby which was a strange start. Brough our food and I had to ask twice for silverware and saw our server walking around and taking other orders so I got them myself. A few minutes later she walks over with silverware and when she sees we have it complains that she had to roll it up. Then didn’t check on our table the whole time and seemed to be intentionally avoiding our table. Truely bad and rude service. Don’t know her name but she had a bandana and winged eyeliner. Funny enough at the end of the night she told us we could skip the question about how our service was.

I had a great lunch date with a friend a couple weeks ago.
The food was good, although the slaw could use a little umph, not much flavor.
The service was excellent.
We had a very personable young lady named Haley. She was very attentive, but not hovering.
She noticed there was a gift on the table and we told her it was a birthday gift for me.
After our meal, my friend & I were chatting and Haley came by the table with a plate of a donut hole type dessert and a wishes for a happy birthday.:)
That is customer service!
Haley is an excellent employee, great service. This is not the norm these days. It was much appreciated and was an added perk to a nice enjoyable day out with a friend.
Thank you Haley! I hope you get the recognition you deserve.

Parking: Parking lot far distance from this particular restaurant.Street parking is difficult due to so much traffic.
My friend & I were in the Ale House for quite a bit eating & catching up.
When we left, I noticed the same vehicles that were already parked on the street in front and behind d my vehicle were still there. This tells me these are employees of the local businesses parking where customers should have access to parking. Employees should be parked in the further lots to allow for paying customers easier access to an area that isn''t the most parking friendly to begin with. That irritated me very much.

Had a solid dinner experience at the Waverly location. Highlight may have been the very positive, high energy service from our young server, Seirra. Shrimp/ lobster meal was tasty too, especially the breaded shrimp. Healthy portion at a dozen nice shrimp! Fair price was a nice extra. I’m sure we’ll be back in the future!
