The cocktails and sangria were wonderful; the sangria was authentic. Wonderful Spanish wine list. The food was great, but not as authentic tasting, maybe less garlic or herbs used than would be in Spain? Though it was very good, I will dine here again. Great ambiance and wonderful staff.
Super dope vibes amazing service I had the oxtail hash for brunch with an espresso and basque cheesecake definitely worth it in every aspect
Alejo brought the best energy during his time serving our table of two. He was attentive and he was the best part of the experience. Food was good too.
Excellent tapas! The beet salad with the goat cheese and creamed pistachio base is the best I've ever had!! Service was fantastic !
Modern décor with comfortable seats. Good view of kitchen from many seats and also of the Rail Trail just outside. Variety of hot and cold menu items. Server very knowledgeable about menu items.
Fantastic! Amazing food and great service. Had 6 tapas and all were beautifully plated and delicious. We can't wait to come back. Great atmosphere too!
We loved our first experience at Catalu. The ceviche and paella were very tasty! The manager topped off our wine “just because” and wished us a happy anniversary. It was a great experience.
Solid tapas/spanish plates in an intimate dim setting with excellent service. Our server Joseph gave great descriptions of food items and some nice wine recommendations. Look forward to returning!
Great service and great tapas! We had the beet salad which was amazing, the patatas bravas with a tasty sauce duo, the Catalu paella, and churros for dessert. The paella was good, but not my favorite dish.
While the ambiance remains inviting and the service is warm and attentive, the overall quality of the food has declined since the restaurant's opening. One of the dishes we received was overly salty, though the staff graciously offered a replacement. Unfortunately, the flavors at Catalu no longer reflect the traditional essence of Spanish cuisine.

Excellent food and great service from Jesus. We were there during happy hour for an early dinner. Jesus help us find all the hidden gems on the menu. Excellent wine list too. We will be back!
We enjoyed a selection of delicious tapas. My dining friend from Valencia Spain said the flavors and preparation were authentic. Service was top notch. Ambience is on the industrial side and sounds tended to bounce a bit. Overall a really good experience.
We had a perfect date night! Our server, Alejo, suggested some excellent dishes. We loved the churros con chocolate for dessert. A delicious meal for a reasonable price.
Well this was our second visit, this time with friends and family and it was just as wonderful as the first. I think we've tried almost every apperizer at this point and the black rice paella. Delicious! And I love that they are so willing to modify the dishes to accommodate my celiac disease. Two times now and still safe! And those sangrias are to die for!!! The server was just as accommodating, attentive and upbeat as the first visit. We'll definitely be back again!! I hope this restaurant is here to stay. What a wonderful addition to Charlotte!!!
Went for dinner, was impressed with the menu selection. Food was good and did not take long to receive after ordering. I would have loved to try more menu items but note worthy was the calamari, the patatas bravas, the beet salad, and the pulpo. I got the albondigas and they were very tasty but not something I would order again, the crepes were good but there was nothing about it that stood out to me. I think the meat and taste got overshadowed by the bechamel sauce on top. I really enjoyed the beet salad. The piscahio butter on the bottom was soooooo good. The croquettes were croquetas were good but again nothing about them stood out and was WOW
