The young man at the counter was one of the sweetest kindest people.I have met in the city of charlotte in the last eleven years. Immediately he could see on my face that something was wrong. My sugar was tanking. He got me what I needed.And then rang me up afterwards once I was okay. I hope to see all of you again.Thank you for everything.

This place is pretty awful. I ordered bagel and was given a stale bagel in a bag and I unfortunately paid for cream cheese and that was a packed of about a .5 of cream cheese Take a few extra steps and go somewhere else. Oh and the coffee is terrible

I’ve been staying In Elizabeth this summer for my job and this place has been a highlight for me. I look forward to visiting most mornings and walking around the gorgeous neighborhood it’s nestled in. Great neighborhood coffee shop. Also the chocolate chip cookies are excellent.

I’ve been going here for years - not frequently, but at least every couple months - ever since they opened. For the first time, I’m considering not returning. The cashier didn’t offer a smile, or respond to anything I said besides my order. I did not feel welcome at all.
I’m glad we’re recognizing the humanity of all workers, and some grace for an off day is a beautiful thing - but they chatted with others, said hello or goodbye to regulars - so it didn’t feel like that was the issue. They barely acknowledged me, and didn’t reply or smile when I tried to make small talk.
If you work with the public, you do have a responsibility there - your interactions with people have an impact. They can lift someone up, or cause them to feel like they were intruding. Today, I was treated like an intruder.
