Residence Inn by Marriott Charlotte City Center

I checked in on October 5th because I was in visiting for a business convention. The housekeeping was less than subpar, and there was a billing issue where they refunded me back my entire stay on Wednesday October 8th even though I was not due to checkout until October 10th. I assumed the refund was for the inconvenience on my complaint against housekeeping not cleaning or restocking my room with towels. They charged me again for the entire stay on October 14th instead of when I checked out October 10th. I’m a Marriott member so I’m aware of the process with a hold being placed on my card for the stay and incidentals but that hold is normally not lifted/refunded until you’ve checked out or a few days after. With everything I’ve experienced with this hotel, I will not be staying here again.

Great place if you want to be in the middle of the action, across from the Spectrum Center.

Valet service lost my keys attached after taking off key fob. Do not stay here and damn sure don’t drop your car off to valet.

While the location of the hotel is very convenient we unfortunately had a lot of bad experiences during our weekend stay.
1. The room was not vacuumed and cleaned properly, the guests before us had a dog or cat and the couch and floor was covered in fur.
2. Upon check in I was told my rate was not going to be the rate I agreed to on the phone. Apparently taxes and fees may differ. That was new to me.

3. As much as we loved our view from the 21st floor there was a party till midnight that was loud
4.After the party they then were moving furniture until 1 am. I didn't get much sleep .
5.when I spoke regarding the pet hair and noise the wonderful lady at the desk offered options to which I took the parking comp ( parking is additional 35$ to self park ). They then didn't comp my park on the final bill and I had to call them back..

Again staff was nice but the cleanliness would not make me come back..
Breakfast is included, standard American style breakfast nothing fancy , cereal, sausages and scrambled eggs and breads.

Residence Inn has the BEST of everything!!! Staff, Clean Rooms, Location and Amenities. Did I mention staff!! Truly A++ staff!!

Room are clean and updated. Location is kind off though. Check-in is on the 14th floor. Very good location downtown. Close to restaurants and bars. Amazing views

Residence and AC are in the same building. I prefer the Residence for rooms and service. Fantastic rooftop bar, Nuvelo. Also a convenient hotel bar, location is great for many restaurants and bars. Can be confusing with registrations on different floors and not in the bottom lobby. Parking garage available also but can be tricky

🏨 Room Quality
Very nice 2 BR suite that was sufficiently spacious, but unfortunately only 1 thermostat for the entire suite (would have liked to see separate thermostats for each bedroom).

Bed and linens were comfortable.

TV's login for Netflix was fine, but the volume wasn't loud enough.

Room and bathroom was clean.

🌐 WiFi and Connectivity
Wi-Fi was good and reliable.

👥 Staff and Service
Staff was friendly and helpful, especially at the breakfast.

🍽️ Food and Beverage
Breakfast was included, but not many options (and my wife's friend doesn't eat pork but had trouble with that).

On the other hand, appreciated the water/coffee in the lobby area.

Right next to a healthy cafe.

Great location.

No noise issues.

💵 Value for Money
Yes, for sure -- really worth it for the money.

📝 Extra Notes
Atmosphere is very safe because they have a security guard at the entrance, and after a certain time you need to have a room key to get into the hotel (Charlotte has a lot of homeless population).

Loved the room.

reat location, staff, and fantastic rooms with beautiful city views. The breakfast was the best quality of any Residence Inn I've stayed at. The eggs, waffles, and English muffins were noticeably better quality.

Only suggestions for improvement: EV charging and improved shower layout. The soap dispensers were awkwardly high, and I'm 5'10".

Noteworthy details: Lobby and breakfast is on 14th floor. Rooms are all floors 15 through 21. AC marriotts occupies other floors.
