I so appreciate this place! My boyfriend is from Ghana and always complains that food in America is not spicy enough for him... until now!! I made a special request and the sweet lady at the front MADE SURE IT WAS SPICY 🔥 Thank you!!

Update**that was 5 years ago and I dumped that guy and married a beautiful man who loves to eat too! He loved the kimchi rice, definitely a favorite spot for us!

I had the beef bulgogi. The flavor was nice and what you would expect of bulgogi. The portion size was smaller than expected for a $20 meal. The beef looked like shaved beef. It was VERY thin and not to my liking because it lacked any juiciness and is less satisfying than a thicker cut. The whole time I was eating it I was thinking about how I would have preferred just getting Trader Joes beef bulgogi which has better beef, is cheaper, and is a larger portion. I wouldn't order it again. The atmosphere and staff were very pleasant. Prices were high with hardly any meals under $17 and most $20+, your only options for a lesser amount are appetizers and wings.

This is a really nice restaurant! The food was great for the most part. I LOVED the korean fried chicken wings. I got the pork tonkatsu as my entree. I didn’t like it much bc while the pork cutlet was cooked to perfection, I didn’t like the sauce that was on top. It didn’t match the picture in the menu and it wasn’t what I was expecting. It had a very sour salty taste. I also got the fried puff pastry dessert and it was soooo good. I would love to come back here again!

Got asked by service if everything was good replied honestly and their lack of care was astonishing. Left 90% of the food. It is a hard pass and way overpriced for frozen reheated food. Wings are freezer burned, sauce out of a package, bland crab rangoon, and vegetable pancake did not look or taste appealing at all. Safe your money and go to a nicer restaurant. $51 bucks later we regret giving it a chance. There is definitely a valid reason for their parking lot being empty. Don't ask if you don't care about costumers feedback and aren't willing to give a solution.

We’ve been coming to Choi’s for years and it’s been sad to see such a community fixture decline.

We didn’t mind the prices since it’s so hard to find authentic food in Charlotte and the quality/portion sizes made up for it but this last go around was not great. The Kimbap was bland, the ratio of rice to everything else was wrong and wrapped poorly. The dolsot bibimbap was underseasoned and noticeably smaller portions.

We genuinely hope Choi’s is able to course-correct and thrive in the long run, as it has meant a lot to the community over the years.

Very nice place. Was passing through to vist family. Choi's was recommended. Very good service. Great tasting food. The Kimbap was fresh. I ordered Galbitang and it was amazing. Seems to be a hard soup to find. The Banchan had a great selection to choose from. Naomi's service was prompt and pleasant. Very good experience. Will be back when im passing through again.

I must say as a person who has Celiac and has to eat gluten free this restaurant made my heart happy. There are so many options. The staff was wonderful and patient with me as I asked a million questions. The food was amazing! I got the Japchae and lemon pepper wings. I will definitely be a returning customer.
