I tried the Biryani, Paneer curry, Naan, and Tandoori chicken from here, and they all tasted great.

We were beyond thrilled with our gorgeous cake! We did chocolate and was a big crowd pleaser! All I had to do was show the talented baker a picture of something I liked and they created something even better.

Cakes are expensive yet come with basic packing and no candles or knives. There isn’t even option to buy. Customers wouldn’t like to visit two stores for cakes and supplies. That’s just common sense.

I ordered malai kofta, garlic naan, chilli chicken, malabar chicken biryani, cake.
The biryani wasn’t in basmati rice and no taste very bland and no flavour at all, even salna(biryani gravy) was not provided.
Rest were good - gravy, cake, naan,
Chilli chicken is like Chinese version but good.
Need to improve on biryani.

How this place is only 3.8 is a mystery. The food is amazing, large portions, and they have amazing cakes. The spice is close to authentic, very much like I had while in India. Indo style dishes available too! The building is small and if you're not familiar with the place you may sit for a while, because you have to order up front. Other than that it's an amazing place to eat. But don't take my word for it, stop in and try it for yourself

I didn’t like the biryani, it was completely bland, just some non flavored rice served with some chicken.

I have been going to curry n cake for the last 2 plus years. And we really liked the Malabar biriyani. It has been the best authentic Malabar biriyani in Charlotte. We have tried both mutton and chicken versions of the Malabar biriyani and loved it.
Spice levels were perfect and flavor was always consistent.
The lemon pickle which comes with the biriyani was also very tasty. This is the go to place whenever we miss our Thalassery biriyani.
Clean , fresh, delicious and great service.

Took me a while to post this review but curry n cake has some of the best Indian food around the university area. They are also the only Indian restaurant around the charlotte area that sells Kerala dishes and as someone from kerala i can confirm the authenticity of the dishes. They also serve some great hyderabadi dishes as well. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for some great Indian food !
