I recently ordered a Rasmalai cake from this store, and was told it was a premium cake, which came at a higher price. I was fine paying more, expecting a rich Rasmalai flavor and good quality. Unfortunately, the cake had an overpowering rose water taste and a strange aftertaste—it didn’t taste like Rasmalai at all. The overall quality and flavor were very disappointing. I will not be ordering from this store again. Thank you.

I just left the restaurant and I need to come back ASAP! It was my first time trying Indian food and it was the best intro, 10/10 recommend! Thank you!

Malabar Biryani is worst stale food taste. Un Professional Chef. Hire Professional Chef’s who can make food with Passion.

05/18/25 Tried Chicken dum Biryani told Spicy but given Mild after Management Changed. No flavor at all. New owner this is for you “ Hire Professional Chef’s who can make food with Passion ( Ignore Mallu Cheff’s & Tamil Chef’s they don’t know how to make food better hire a professional from India on L1) Then you can become a no.1 in Charlotte area.

If you do good food and taste no one have a chance to write a -ve review. Firstly you people need to work on how you can deliver the food with compassion, original flavor, hospitality(welcoming & addressing people how they like the food), if any suggestions or comments made on the food you need to take it seriously and make not repeated again the same mistake and you need taste your menu items everyday to avoid any such comments from the customers.

People here genuinely care about you.
The best Customer service. Every week there is deals to try new things.

The best Indian sweets also.

The butter chicken was creamy and well-balanced with just the right level of spice. Goes great with garlic naan or jeera rice. A real comfort dish.

We were beyond thrilled with our gorgeous cake! We did chocolate and was a big crowd pleaser! All I had to do was show the talented baker a picture of something I liked and they created something even better.

Cakes are expensive yet come with basic packing and no candles or knives. There isn’t even option to buy. Customers wouldn’t like to visit two stores for cakes and supplies. That’s just common sense.

I ordered malai kofta, garlic naan, chilli chicken, malabar chicken biryani, cake.
The biryani wasn’t in basmati rice and no taste very bland and no flavour at all, even salna(biryani gravy) was not provided.
Rest were good - gravy, cake, naan,
Chilli chicken is like Chinese version but good.
Need to improve on biryani.

How this place is only 3.8 is a mystery. The food is amazing, large portions, and they have amazing cakes. The spice is close to authentic, very much like I had while in India. Indo style dishes available too! The building is small and if you're not familiar with the place you may sit for a while, because you have to order up front. Other than that it's an amazing place to eat. But don't take my word for it, stop in and try it for yourself

I didn’t like the biryani, it was completely bland, just some non flavored rice served with some chicken.

I have been going to curry n cake for the last 2 plus years. And we really liked the Malabar biriyani. It has been the best authentic Malabar biriyani in Charlotte. We have tried both mutton and chicken versions of the Malabar biriyani and loved it.
Spice levels were perfect and flavor was always consistent.
The lemon pickle which comes with the biriyani was also very tasty. This is the go to place whenever we miss our Thalassery biriyani.
