DeSano Pizzeria Napoletana

This place has no business charging people for pizza making classes. Should not be teaching people how to make bad pizza. Pizza dough from the little I could taste that wasnt burnt tasted like it was made that morning with no real fermentation process. Under carriage was burnt. A good char is one thing but burnt is burnt. Couldn't really taste actual pizza under all the chunks of raw uncooked garlic. Just sloppy to claim to be that good.

Pizza was super greasy and just flopped. Char on top and bottom but had no crisp to it at all. Beick oven with fire and no crisp. This was definitely not worth $28 !!!

We couldn’t believe that were not serve because they were closing in 30 minutes.
That’s the most ridiculous thing we’ve ever heard in a restaurant, specially Friday night. We are regular customers and we always had great customer service except today.

The only reason we’ve given this place repeat business is because the pizza, while expensive, is usually pretty good. However the restaurant itself is absolutely filthy. Tables aren’t bussed, dirty dishes sitting around everywhere on tables and the bar, tables are sticky and dirty, water dispensers empty…and they now use styrofoam plates instead of glass or paper. The restrooms are also disgusting. The employees are rude and never in a rush, especially the girl taking orders who is only standing at the front half the time. Usually she’s in the back on her phone and customers have to wait to order until she decides to show up at the counter. We ordered two pizzas and it took no less than 45 minutes. Absurd! This restaurant used to be well run years ago but has gone downhill severely. We will be going elsewhere from now on. Plenty of good pizza options in Charlotte!

I have never had a restaurant kill my mood so fast. I went at 7:45 on a Thursday. Should have had a beer special, they had already stopped serving alcohol. There urinal and both sinks in the men’s restroom were out of order.
After we finished our pizza, which was actually quite good, they came up and asked if the new pizza they had was ours? So I guess we got the wrong “sausage and cheese” pizza.
Overall, I would order it online, but never go in person if you can help it. The taste of the pizza is the only reason for the second star.

This pizza is the best pizza in Charlotte! You can taste the freshness of the ingredients and it is cooked to perfection. Very authentic! The atmosphere is comfortable and family-oriented as well. Highly recommend!

The bartender Sam was very friendly to talk to. My boyfriend, and I ordered a pizza. The service was fast, and the pizza had great flavor. We will definitely be back to visit.

I’ve been to this place twice — first and last time.

Tip: Don’t tip until you get your food (trust me on this, thank me later).

Drove 45 minutes to meet up with coworkers. We arrived at 11:45 AM and were told pizza would take about 20 minutes. Half of our table’s order came out first — 45 minutes later. The rest of the table waited, and when their food finally came, the first group had already given up and left (having finished their food).

The staff is very young, clearly unsupervised, and seems to have no sense of urgency. We even saw other customers walk in after us, wait a while, then ask for a refund when it became clear the staff was just standing around chatting instead of working.

Honestly, I should’ve done the same. Very disappointing.

Came in on a very slow day and only 2 people working with one oven going. 25 minutes later they hadn’t even started our order. One of the workers had a friend she was talking to the whole time. Other customers came in and they ignored them. We ended up requesting a refund and walking out. Very poorly managed operation with a great location.

Excellent New York style pizzeria in Waverly. We opted for the eponymous Desano specialty pizza and was amazing with just the right amount of sweetness to the sauce and heaped with pepperoni and sausage. The place was clean, but I do prefer less sterile ambiance.

The workers were complete absolute utterly rude and should all be fired the manager should be fired so should everyone else but hector he was great. Refused to take my order also they closed early and said horrible things.

Refuse to take my order 45 minutes before closing and said no because they did not want to make it and they were too lazy. Do not go here. This place is a terrible place to take your family out to this is a disgrace to society and I would never be coming here again. The workers were terrible looking bathrooms were so bad there was pee on the floor. I’m never coming back to you again.

Well after 30 mins and seeing multiple people order, sit down and get multiple pizzas to go. Asked the folks at the pizza line about order 44, just got an ignorant blank stare. Unfortunately don't think we will be coming back here for a $30 pepperoni pizza when it takes over 30 mins for a 90 sec neapolitan. Pretty terrible experience.
