This place has been here for years! I have been a few times. the food is good, the workers there are so kind and genuine. I love the retro feel this place gives you. The fried pickles here are a must! overall Its nothing super special but for how long it has been around it is!

This is some of the best southern food I've ever had. The chicken tips were tender and flavorful, which is hard to find. My husband got the BBQ pork, and that was amazing. Didn't even need sauce! And the sides were so so so good. Everything we got was perfect. It came out quickly, and the staff was super nice. Definitely will be returning.

It was alright. The tuna sandwich was a hit and the kids liked their corn dog and hamburger. The French dip, Shrimp Po-boy, and sides were disappointing.

Based on this meal I would not return, but this was not the first visit and hopeful it was a one off bad night. We have had great meals here.

David our server was personable, helpful, and professional. There is a fabulous outside seating area with great local vibes.

Very disappointed in my first visit. Two different tables told us to leave as soon as we arrived because they had been waiting for their food for an hour. My meal was terrible, and one of the waitstaff was vaping behind the bar the entire time I was there. The floors and the tables were dirty.

Nice little old school lunch diner among a bunch of new stuff. We had the club, chicken and burgers and fries and it was all good. The waitress suggested the onion ring sauce for the fries and it was great.

The food here is awesome! It’s affordable and fresh. Every time I come here I get the fried pickles but today I decided to get the wings and wow! This place just doesn’t disappoint.

Went for lunch today and the Bartender is so nice. He could tell that I was not fully awake yet and was extremely patient. The food was amazing, that okra got me smiling and I'm extremely thankful for the warmth!! Cheers friends.

I got the marinated chicken tips and my wife got the French dip. I got hush puppies, Texas toast, and mashed potatoes. The hush puppies were dry and the toast was plain. Server didn’t come back so I didn’t get to ask for butter. We think they brought a cheesesteak instead of French dip. No au jus. When we got the check we asked for au jus and she brought some sort of onion sauce. Server clearly did not know the menu. Disappointing experience. Would not go back

Surviving for so many years and how do you think that is logically possible?

Yes! It is great!

I love all the choices!

I even have been a customer for 50 years and never had a bad experience.

I'm always hungry ... except when I leave here!!

Just called The Diamond @2:02 PM August 25th from Chase Bank wanting to bring our employee staff to eat lunch there but the Man whom answered the phone when asked whom I was speaking with would not identify himself and repeatedly repeated “How Can I Help You” over 10 times ignoring each time I asked whom I was speaking to. How rude! Very rude employee and trust me we will not be eating lunch there EVER!

Just called back ‘The Diamond’ to get the man’s name I was referring to and his name is RYAN!

Our Family has been eating at ‘The Diamond’ since my Grandmother started eating there in the late 1940’s. This is not the customer friendliness that we are accustomed to when calling or visiting ‘The Diamond’. It’s a shame because we hold this establishment dear to our hearts.

Peach cobbler was excellent. Just wish the coffee was a tad bit stronger. We'll definitely go again.

I was a big fan of The Penguin back in the day. I had not been in this area in a long time, and didn't know that the managers of The Penguin when it was good had opened this place next door to the old spot. It has the same eclectic, late night vibe where all kinds of people can be found hanging out for a bite to eat before heading home. The food is good and the staff is very friendly and casual.

Wish I could actually speak to the food but that would have meant we got to eat. That wasn’t the case. We simply sat there for 45m just to leave.

Got to the Diamond, ordered a beer and an appetizer at the same time. Appetizer hadn’t arrived but we ordered our food. After about 20m, we still had not received our chips and dip. The appetizer was potato chips and onion dip and after 20m not getting it I canceled that. We continued to wait for our food. After being there for almost an hour, I walked up to the bar and told them we were leaving.

It was not busy. There were no big parties. There was less than 20 people in the building when I left including a party of 10 that had just walked in and sat. Burgers, hamburger steaks, and hot dogs don’t take that long.

The only saving grace was the bar tender. He was fantastic and personable. The waitress on the other hand should probably consider another job because she was awful.
