Two stars only because I've loved this place my whole adult life. Should be 0 stars. But came here, sat outside, waitress was F*CKED UP, took 28 minutes to get our drinks, 3/4 of our party left, we stayed out of pity and the waitress was rude about everyone leaving and the apps we put in with our drink she said we never ordered. She slammed the menus on the table on her way back to get our tab for the 4 drinks we paid for when only 2 of us were left to drink them. Do better. I'm so disappointed.

We love the food at Diamond. It's always been a pleasure, but today the server outside . Next level unpleasant, obviously hates life or her job . Completely unnecessary. Just disappointing. She doesn't need to be in the service industry. We just walked across the street to eat . Good luck .

I ordered the open faced turkey and banana pudding. The open faced turkey was pretty salty and overall like cafeteria food which isn’t always bad but I felt it was not something I’d eat again. It came with some coleslaw but it wasn’t mayo based or if it was it was very bare. I couldn’t bring myself to eat it - the smell was not appealing. And then my banana pudding was… somehow bad? Which is odd because I’ve never had bad banana pudding. But for the price it was very small and had lingering tastes of onion from im guessing being stored near other foods. Just not a good time. I’d be cautious what you order and maybe check some other reviews.

The bartender brian, is the most laid back person ever. Maybe alittle reserved but if you get the chance to get into a conversation with him, hes a pleasure to talk too. I appreciated everything about his conversation and service! Will be back again.

I was really looking foward to trying the pulled pork. Walked in the door and wasn’t acknowledged. Asked the bartender if we should seat ourselves and was met with a thumbs up and an eye roll. Extremely rude. When the waitress FINALLY came to take our order she informed me they were out of pulled pork. This is at 12 noon. Don’t waste your time.

This place is definitely a place for nostalgic diner meals and drinks. You’ll get exactly what you imagine. It’s definitely a staple in the plaza area and Charlotte altogether. Give it a try… we went for lunch and it was a throwback in time for sure.
Top notch as always. They made a fresh banana pudding for me and my nephew who was a Diamond virgin. One of the very few times I've been there when it wasn't packed, but it was actually a nice change to not have to wait for a table for 30 min. He loved the burgers, chips, fries, banana pudding and the wings we had up front. As usual, I'd definitely recommend and will definitely go back.
