Yesterday I went to eat with my kids and my mother , I wanted to celebrate my son’s birthday, my son has special needs and we decided to eat outdoors. We been going to Don Pedro for the longest since my son enjoys their food . At one point that was the only food my son was eating and we used to go every week at least 2 times a week. Yesterday the service was excellent but the food was horrible, the rice looked like it was from over a week , the shrimp was also not recently cooked, and the carne asada was way overcooked and very hard to eat . Very disappointed about this food I didn’t complain yesterday because my son was desperate to leave the restaurant because not even like the food yesterday.

I am sharing this review while sitting in the restaurant. While the experience with food and service has been good, this place is not a choice to go for dinner time with family on weekends (and I assume it's the same on weekends). The place is decorated nicely but extremely loud music is what took the rest of the 4 stars out of this review. You can barely talk to anyone including your waiting staff. We were hungry, but due to the unpleasant atmosphere because of loud music, decided to cut short our time and leave.

The best food.the specialty drinks are delicious, the staff & owners are always super friendly & helpful if needed to negotiate the menu. We have been enjoying this restaurant for over 20 years & never had any issues. Very consistent.

Crappy place. I don't come often to NC. Loved the sauce dip from the last visit, so I wanted to go again this visit. I ordered Quesabirria, and it had something looking like a small finger nail. She asked at the kitchen, and they said it was a fish scale. None of my family ordered fish. I ate it, and food was 2 out of five. Got the receipt, and their is an 18% tip added. They don't even know if we like the service. Since my receipt was over 6 people, they added it. Didn't know about that , but since it's gratitude, I should decide how much. They didn't let me. Not going there ever again. My brother's receipt was also added, and he had 4. He was going to tip $20, since they didn't want to dock mine, he gave the $15 that was asked in receipt.

This place has great food but the service sucks i don't know if it was just me but no one wanted to wait on me or even look at me , but everyone else they were waited on. I hope its not because I was the only African American person there..I will never come back I felt like they didn't want me there. I mean sit down and no one bought me chips and salsa until 30 minutes later the manager came and asked me what I wanted to drink,,,, after 30 minutes . At first I thought it was me but another couple sit down beside me and they were served chips and salsa in 30seconds and maybe 5 minutes a drink

Great authentic Mexican food in Charlotte with a festive atmosphere. We go on Sundays quite a bit and they have excellent live Mariachi music.

I wasn't expecting this experience ?I thought I'd try a new place and came here based on the photos and some reviews. I had a craving for Nachos so that is what I ordered. I did enjoy the Strawberry mule but it's $15. The salsa is too runny but it tastes good. I didn't have to wait long at all which was nice because I was so hungry. My first bite was unexpectedly not good. I was trying to figure out what it might be but my chips were burnt, and the beef and cheese just didn't taste good. I've only sent food back once in my life and always just eat it and decided not to re-order something I wasn't fond of but the waitress asked me how was it and this time I was honest. She seemed angry with me when I told her I didn't like it. She asked what was wrong with it with such an attitude I really didn't want to even tell her. But I said the taste is just really bad and my chips are also burnt and I can taste that as well. (I didn't get a chance to take a picture). She just grabbed my plate and walked off with an attitude. I was so confused and felt like she shamed me. She didn't apologize, she didn't ask if I wanted something different, she didn't even come back. I waited a while and she finally asked if I needed my check like wow. I just said yes and she charged my drink. So now I guess I'll find somewhere else to eat but the food was not the only thing that put a bad taste in my mouth, the service was equally as disgusting. They are nice but if you have any complaint at all they are defensive and rude immediately.

I ordered the chilaquiles (spelling) and I told them no beans but should substitute rice and I don't think they did. Plus, the meal was a bit on the colder side like it was sitting out for a bit.

Food was good, burrito on smaller side. Had decent amount of ground beef but tortilla was soggy. Beans need more flavor. Rice needed more spice. Presented on white square plate. Overall taste 2.5. Quesadilla. I got the shredded chicken. Presentation was messy. Specifics, supposed to be served with quesadilla around dipping sauces but dipping sauces were served messily on top of the quesadilla. Taste was greasy. It was a 2 out of 5.

For many years I have visited this place. But I see that the food has declined. I am referring to the portions, just as the cost of the dish has increased, it must be the same in its portions. The rice almost seems to be given in cash at the same time. that the beans seem to just smear the plate with a brush... It's not like before. The authenticity of them has been lost. Their technique is to give very large plates so that they appear to be a large portion of food, which is not It's really like that....But well the fault is not theirs but those of us who made the choice to go...
