Food was great, portions were generous. Some of the better shrimp and grits I've tried from a restaurant. The Apricot martini was delicious. Everything we got was super tasty, service was fast and everyone was obviously working hard to provide great service despite being short staffed.

Each dining experience was enjoyable! Service was impressive and the ambiance was great for get togethers and celebrations. Sadly, discovered that as of September, 2025, The Eagle Charlotte is listed as permanently closed. Grateful for the wonderful memories shared there.

I went for restaurant week, we were seated right away unfortunately we waited quite a few minutes to be approached by wait staff they were busy at the bar drinking soft drinks out of a bottle and talking to each other. We finally place our order and the food comes out fairly quick which I thought was unusual since we ordered "Fried" chicken. The chicken was luke warm and the breast was dry, the collard greens were bitter. Enjoyed the Hushpuppies and the mashed potatoes were decent. If you want average bar food its your place. 1st time going and have no desire of going back.

Always a perfect experience here. The staff knew my name as I entered and it's quickly becoming my favorite restaurant in CLT. Thank you very much.

The Eagle has good food and service. We had enough to take home for another meal.

Last week, my husband and I went to The Eagle for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by our experience. The restaurant was almost empty which was concerning on a Friday night but everything we ordered was delicious. Our server was really sweet and made great recommendations for food and drinks. Being lactose intolerant, I struggle to find things I can eat but she was very accommodating and I was impressed by the portions - I even had left overs! I am excited to go back and try more of the menu soon, especially the chicken sandwich.

If you want authentic Southern fried chicken and sides, this is your stop. The herb chicken is delightful as well on the summer salad or the sandwich. The hushpuppies, sweet potato casserole, and macaroni & cheese were just like every Baptist Church lady makes! Shout out to our wonderful server, Jojo, she was friendly/knowledgeable/attentive and really patient when explaining options. Definitely split sides as the portions are generous.

I had lunch at The Eagle Charlotte for the first time. We had the whole fried chicken, and it was outstanding. For the sides, I recommend the Mac & Cheese, Fries, and the Homemade Biscuits. If you are looking for some good fried chicken, I recommend eating at the Eagle.

Solid Spot for Southern-Inspired Bites The Eagle in South End offers a cozy Southern comfort vibe with a modern twist. Parking was a breeze thanks to the nearby garage, which is always a plus in that area. We arrived a little late for our reservation, but there were plenty of open tables and we were seated quickly with no issue. I ordered the Fried Chicken BLT with a bourbon punch and a side of fries with aioli. The food was good and portions were decent, though I'd say the sides feel a bit overpriced for what you get. The fries were tasty, but the aioli was the star. The ambiance was warm with a buzzy bar feel—somewhat loud, but that's to be expected. One small quirk: the lighting fixtures block the view of the TVs from the wall booths, which might matter if you're hoping to catch a game. Service was friendly, but our waiter may have been a little too attentive—he lingered by our table to the point where it interrupted the flow of our conversation. Not a dealbreaker, just something to note. All in all, a good spot for a casual night out with solid food and a lively vibe.

It's all about the fried chicken, which is not really fried like KFC. Mac & cheese was excellent. Very good beer list.

We went for a late lunch and it was very quiet. The windows in front open up like garage doors so even though we were inside with the AC on it was like being outside. One of the bonuses of this place is the free parking lot. ;-)

The food here is amazing. The fried chicken is really flavorful and we like every side we tasted. We especially loved the spoon bread and the horseradish mashed potatoes. Unfortunately our server was inattentive and bordering on rude. The little service we did get we had to beg for, and then we were rushed out before we even finished.
