This was my first Ethiopian food experience and I was happy with the quality of the food but unsure how to properly enjoy all the flavors on my plate. Overall the flavor was unique and enjoyable but I wasn’t a fan of toughness of the Goden Derek Tibs (short rib). I was expecting the meat to have a hard exterior with a melt in your mouth interior. This place is becoming a problem for me.
The food is so good I end up forgetting there are other places to go to at Optimist.
Get the Tibs platters. Skip the sandwiches. And muscle up to some Injera and eat it right.

I went two times in the last week. The first time everything was spot on perfect. The second time today the injera tasted like it was tainted with bleach. I told the lady behind the register and she brought me a fresh one out wrapped in aluminum foil. When I unwrapped it it was also wrapped again with some white bleachy paper that smelled like bleach. So I didn't have any injera with my vegan platter. Hopefully they can find something better to wrap it and that isn't...
