I’m not sure why this place doesn’t have much higher ratings as it was a phenomenal experience from beginning to end. I cannot recall my server’s name (taller bearded gentleman) but he as so knowledgeable and helpful with his recommendations and ensuring that we understood the sizing of the plates that we were ordering. The Greek salad was our first course, big enough for two to share as an appetizer. Best Greek salad of my existence. Secondly, the short rib flatbread shared between the two of us. So absolutely delicious! The star of the show, the short rib ravioli. One bite and I was verbally saying how I wanted to speak to the chef repeatedly. The sauce from the ravioli married so beautifully with the garnish on the side. We already cannot wait to go back to try more dishes as everything was perfection. Everything came out at a great pace and we didn’t feel rushed to finish each course. The aesthetic and ambience was casually elegant and inviting, perfect for a date night or night out with friends. Can’t wait to see you next time!

The reviews looked great so we decided to try this spot for the first time ever and we were unimpressed to say the least. If you are going to Essex, be prepared to SPEND for a decent meal. The "small plates" here are absolutely tiny (picture one skewer of 4 small pieces of meat & a stalk of broccoli for $25) and not large enough to share, but come out on large entree plates. What we did have was delicious, but the appetizer was more filling than the actual dinner. The service is subpar and we wish we'd had some guidance on the menu so we could have ordered heavier items. We overheard a different server recommend the flatbreads and sliders, so hopefully that helps any future patrons :)

3 bottles of SMALL still water = $26……..Dirty silverware and limited food options for unreasonable prices. Before we decided to order still water, the waitress poured the tap water into our glass and when we asked for still water she poured the tap water from the glass back into the pitcher…..We’ve dined at Eddie Vs to small diners….. this “bistro” needs to reassess their protocols and management.

It was crowded on a Saint Patrick's Day weekend, but our server was excellent. The food was very good. We highly recommend.

I’d rather eat cardboard than come back to this place. Atmosphere was nice and clean but that was about it. Food was tasteless and overpriced for the quality.

We've been to this restaurant many times since it opened. It has been better in the past. Tonight substitutions were negotiated after we ordered because some ingredients weren't in the kitchen. The food was delivered to our table luke-warm or cooler.

Not crowded on a Sunday night, so made for a nice leisurely dinner spot. A really bad feature of this restaurant is the requirement to secure with a credit card at $50 per person each party. If not canceled at least 24 hours ahead of time, that amount is charged to your credit card. Won't be returning until that changes. Haven't run into that with any other restaurant booked through Open Table.

Shout out to Denise. His smile and customer service definitely shine with all my office co-workers and I. This is our favorite go-to place for lunch and dinner.
