Our waitress was spending so much time chatting and laughing she came to the table to give us the check. Very disappointed.
Nice location right next to a pond. The views were really cool. Service and food are both really good. Very nice location.

I ate here for breakfast. I would have to say though, it wasn’t the best, just pretty average.
The food was lacking in flavor/seasoning. I had the eggs benedict over ham and biscuits. Not the best. I’ve definitely had better for cheaper.
Really love the view of the boardwalk though.
With the price of the menu items and the small portions and flavor, I will unfortunately not be returning.

This was the 3rd year that my team has come to this location for breakfast and a team gathering. They are always accommodating with a large party. The servers were attentive, the food was good, they have a good sanitation grade (96), and the prices are reasonable as relative to the cost of food and eating out.

Very slow service. Waiters don’t check on you. You wait a very long time for food and get forgotten. Oh, and we got seated and basically ignored. Two separate parties came after us and got their orders taken way before us (even got their food before us). Waiting to place an order takes a while. Kinda disappointed as we were celebrating :/ so expect to wait a long while.
For reference, the restaurant wasn’t full at the time. Weekday too.

Our family recently visited Famous Toastery for breakfast while traveling. We were seated promptly, but were surprised to learn they require a credit card hold for parties of six or more. While unusual, we complied.
Our server was the highlight of the experience! She was incredibly attentive and accommodating, especially when our party unexpectedly grew from six to nine. She consistently checked on us and ensured we had everything we needed. The food also arrived quickly and hot.
Unfortunately, the taste didn't quite match the service. The grits were incredibly bland, lacking any seasoning or butter. My wife's French toast tasted more like plain toasted bread with a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar – it seemed to be missing the classic egg batter soak. My daughter's avocado toast was similarly under-seasoned.
While the service was excellent and the food arrived promptly, the lack of flavor in many of the dishes was disappointing. If you're looking for a quick breakfast and have a small party, Famous Toastery might be an option. However, be prepared to add your own seasoning, and perhaps consider exploring other breakfast spots first.
Kid-friendliness: They have a pretty good kids menu. My 7-year-old son was very pleased with the options.

Very average for a breakfast place. The menu looked really good but I was disappointed in the food. The quality was fine and the service was good anf friendly, but my omelet was a bit bland. I can get made-to-order omelets in the cafeteria in my office that are better. My wife got a breakfast sandwich. She goes out to many breakfast places and she too felt that Famous Toastery was just average. You can do worse, but you can certainly do better.

Let's start with the service, just BAD. Didn't refill my coffee even once or offer to. Asked me what I ordered 3 times like she didn't even listen.
I ordered huevos rancheros and coffee. It came without bread, they charged me $3.5 for a slice of toast.
The food was ok, nothing special.

The 30-minute wait was ok. However, my waiter never came back after we placed our order. We had to stop other workers just to get a refill.

I have eaten at a famous toastery before in Wilmington, NC and absolutely loved it. This location was lacking in many areas. I had to wait a long time before anyone noticed to seat me, workers passed by me a few times without asking if I needed a seat. It took a long time for me to be greeted at my table. Mind you this place wasn’t busy AT all. My food came out relatively fast, wasn’t the greatest tasting. My waiter didn’t bring out my food, and never checked back in on me, then tossed my check on the table without even asking if I needed anything else or have a great day. I guess he forgot about trying to be even a smidge pleasant toward a customer. Do not recommend this unpleasant location.

I was there twice this past weekend for breakfast. The service was the only variable. It was never poor but varied between 4 and 5. My friend and I were greeted warmly and seated quickly. One day, we had a young lady who seemed to be new and was not as good as the young lady we had the following day.
We had the breakfast bowl and the flapjacks. Excellent! My beanstalk bowl was the best I have ever had. Not over seasoned or too salty, one of which is usually the case in those dishes. I tried it with both the hollandaise and the gray and was pleased both times. It was just a flawless dish. I'm going back on the last day of my trip.

Had breakfast there with a former teacher from high school and everything was amazing. I love this place. Her pancakes were delicious and my omelet was amazing. Bacon, mushrooms and pepper jack cheese!
Parking: I went on a Thursday morning. So it was plenty of parking. But I will say having gone on a Friday and Saturday morning parking is a beast.

I love Famous Toastery. I frequent the Concord nd Davidson locations. Always amazing experiences but this one…not so much. We waited for a long time to get seated and there was 6 tables max. Once we sat down our drink order was taken promptly. We ordered orange juice which I later regretted. After we got our drinks, we waited what felt like forever to order our food due to our server cleaning the machine used to make the orange juice. I watched her clean it and watched the grossed out face she made while cleaning it and proceeded to show another server how dirty it was and I saw the rag she used to clean it and will never order fresh squeezed orange juice ever again. Once we got our food ( I ordered the sweet potato hash) the sweet potatoes were not cooked and they forgot to put the toppings on it. I requested the toppings and still didn’t get all of them. The person who appeared to be the manager took the meal off and was very sweet and apologized for the inconvenience. But she was walking around with her very long hair down and not tied back while serving food and walking around the kitchen. The server was very nice but never came back to check on us unless she was waived down. This place needs some training to say the least. Definitely won’t be back but just wanted to kindly give feedback in hopes of a better experience for future guests. 🙏
Good choice for breakfast. Service was very quick, and friendly. Food choices were tasty. The bacon has a good smokey flavor. Convenient to local hotel via a short waterfront walk.
