We thoroughly enjoyed the "small plate" experience at Fin & Fino. There was extraordinary diversity and variety in the offerings, and each dish was outstanding -- the mussels, the tuna crudo, the salmon/tuna poke, and the calamari were all amazingly good, and our one non-seafood dish, the lamb rigatoni was also very hardy and flavorful. The bartender created a unique cocktail for one of guests, which fit her taste profile perfectly. We went to dinner early and as result the noise level was very low. It was an wonderful experience overall.

Very creative menu and great staff. Food was excellent and it was a great place to bring an out of town business guest for a special meal.

Went for lunch for the first time, eaten here for dinner at lease 7-10 times and always enjoy it. Poke bowls were good but unfortunately service was very slow.

We both had “The Treatment” which was very good. If I'm in town again, I would want to plan to come again. The service was a bit spotty, but not bad.

My son picked Fin & Fino for his birthday dinner and it was a good choice. From the moment we checked in until we left everyone was pleasant and took care of our party. The food was brought out in a timely fashion and was delicious. Being small plates allowed everyone to try different things they otherwise would not have ordered. We will definitely be back!

As someone who personally prefers to leave only positive reviews instead of negative or any at all, I hesitated to write this. However, I feel this is so important to know for anyone else with food allergies. While Fin & Fino is undoubtedly a beautiful restaurant, when I dined there on 5/17/25, my experience was disappointing, confusing, and scary. Our table of 8 ordered “The Treatment,” or the tasting tour by the chef. Part of the ordering process includes relaying to the waitress any preferences (for example, we asked for a balance of land and sea dishes) as well as any allergies. At that point, we alerted them that we had a severe nut allergy, and they asked us to specify what kind; we said both tree nuts and peanuts, with peanuts being especially severe. She assured us that they would make note of that. Just one dish into “The Treatment,” however, they brought out tuna tacos topped with peanuts—with just one peanut-free one on the side. As those with severe allergies may know, this meant I had to leave the table because they had just placed a severe allergen in front of me, and it also meant (since we were at a table full of couples) that my boyfriend also couldn’t eat, due to my allergies. The fact that any restaurant would inquire about allergies and then specifically bring what was alerted as a severe, top allergen to the table is frankly shocking. I’m not often one to speak up or complain at restaurants—so much respect for anyone in the service industry—but we did here, because it completely interrupted our dining experience. We also learned that our waitress was a former nurse—who had a child with anaphylactic allergies herself. To have that experience and background, in my opinion, makes this even more negligent and careless. Further, she even told me that “the whole kitchen has cross-contamination,” even though she hadn’t mentioned this when discussing allergies. Of course, we all know any kitchen has risks, but that is for the person with allergies to know and then assume based on communicated information. All in all, they didn’t charge 2 of us (my boyfriend and I) out of the 8 of us for “The Treatment,” but we ended up having to Uber Eats food from a different restaurant while everyone else ate, which made for a less than ideal evening (but shoutout to Superica, whose quesadillas are amazing even delivered!). I strongly don’t recommend this restaurant and would urge them to consider more thorough training and practices for their staff to protect customers with allergies—but until that happens, I would avoid at all costs. There are so many cool Charlotte restaurants that have a thoughtful approach, so there’s no reason to go to one like this.

One of the best seafood I’ve ever had, exceptionally fresh and perfectly prepared!

All three meals we ordered were excellent. Decent proportions and not outrageously priced (for being downtown). I have been multiple times for lunch with clients and always had a nice experience.

We went close to closing time. It was last call for food and we sat at the bar. Bartender was nice and I loved the fun names they did for the cocktails. They were very tasty and it looks like they make their syrups and bitters in house. All of the food was good. I enjoyed the crab dip and the lamb & mushroom pasta dush. Important to note, if you are vegetarian or vegan, the menu appeared to be limited with options. I didn't see much beyond a salad. Also, the menu assumes you are sharing so plate sizes can be small.

Excellent service. Lovely food-fries, lamb spaghetti, house pasta.

We’ve been loyal patrons of the Dressler family of restaurants for over 15 years, but sadly, our experience with Fin & Fino has ended that relationship. While booking a reservation on OpenTable (we’ve earned over 45,000 points), we were shocked to see a $2 per person seat fee.

It’s not about the $2—it’s about the principle of charging extra just to be seated. What’s next, a fee for to-go boxes? We were prepared to spend over $200 tonight, with a $40+ tip to the server. Instead, our money—and loyalty—went to Dean’s Steakhouse.

After years of support, it’s incredibly disappointing to see yet another nickel-and-dime tactic creep into what used to be a trusted dining experience. You didn’t just lose a table tonight—you lost a 10+ year customer. Hope the seat fee helps your bottom line.

The food is fantastic! We ordered several small plates to share and every single item was incredible. We went in later on a week night and it was fairly quiet. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Small plate servings were larger than expected and everything was excellent, cooked perfectly and delicious. We especially enjoyed the mushroom toast, furikake fries and the tuna-salmon poke. Service was excellent as expected from a Dressler restaurant.
