Forchetta is an Italian restaurant located within the DoubleTree hotel in downtown Charlotte. While the staff is attentive, some guests have found the parking situation confusing, although they do validate parking. The menu features classic Italian dishes like lasagna and pasta, with mixed reviews. The calamari appetizer was well-received, and the seared scallop and octopus appetizer was also noted as delicious. The lasagna, which includes bison and bechamel sauce, surprised some diners with its flavor. Other standout dishes included the grilled octopus, rabbit ragu pasta, and the seafood pasta, which is delicious. The salmon is very fresh and cooked perfectly, though at least one guest found it undercooked. The portions are generous, and the Montepulciano wine is enjoyed by many. The garden salad has very fresh assorted lettuces. For dessert, the apple pie and mango cobbler are popular, although the pie was frozen when served. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful, resetting one's mood, and the location is great for attending Uptown events. The service is excellent, with accommodating staff and fabulous servers like Miranda and Jenee, who have received praise for their friendliness and attentiveness. Some guests had trouble finding the entrance, as street doors were locked, requiring entry through the hotel. Forchetta provides a decent dining experience, though some guests preferred their local Italian spots over this hotel restaurant. However, many plan to return, especially after enjoying the food and service.
