I walked in at 7:58 PM. Sat down at 7:59. At 8:23 PM, i asked a waitress if we were okay to sit there when she looked at us walking out. She said “yeah are you leaving?” Then we sat back down and left by 8:36. 40 minutes and nobody even came over lol.
To add on to the review from 3 days ago, I was also there and the manager was being very disrespectful to one of his staff who seemed like he had done nothing wrong at all, I hope this is not normal and I will not be coming back.

I came today with family food was delicious but the manager as being verbally abusive to an employee for I guess not doing his job, he was yelling and cursing so loud very unprofessional
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (because the food & staff need love)
The food? Sizzlin’.
The staff? Cool as cucumbers.
The building? Hotter than a jalapeño’s armpit.
I feel for the staff — they’re hustling in conditions that would make a rotisserie chicken say “that’s enough.”
Freemore Tavern has long been my go-to neighborhood spot — killer food, cold drinks, and some of the best staff in Charlotte. I’ve been a loyal regular for years. But lately… walking in feels less like grabbing dinner and more like entering a steamroom with nachos.
It’s July in Charlotte, which means you step outside and the air slaps you. But the real shocker? Stepping inside Freemore and realizing it’s somehow hotter. Beers don’t stay cold (my Coors Light mountains are basically puddle gray), and the humidity could qualify as a dipping sauce.
I wanted to order my usual blackened chicken Caesar wrap last week, but the thought of seasoning it with my own sweat was too much. That’s not “extra salt,” it’s a cry for help.
I don’t need my wrap blackened — I am blackened. I’m the wrap now. The wrap is me.
Please, I beg you — for the love of your amazing staff, for the glory of cold drafts, and for the health and hydration of your loyal regulars — fix the A/C. We want to stay faithful. We want to stay cool. But right now, we’re just staying home.
I’m begging you with the last dry thread of my t-shirt. No shade to the actual Sauna House next door — I fully support their mission of intentional sweating. But I came here for wings and a beer, not to open my pores and realign my chakras with every sip of Coors.
With sweaty love,
A very overheated fan

This place is pretty awesome. Great food, drinks, staff on point. Best part is you can save money on your sauna gym membership and just come here in the summer and sit in 85 degree restaurant with a drink.

I’ve been coming to this bar for a while now because I love the atmosphere, the staff, and the regular crowd — but it’s becoming really hard to justify hanging out here when the AC has been broken for over a month. It’s mid-July in North Carolina, and the heat inside is unbearable. I’m not the only one frustrated — I’ve overheard plenty of customers complain, and even the staff have voiced how rough it’s been trying to work under these conditions. I know it’s not their fault, but it’s disappointing that ownership hasn’t prioritized fixing something so essential.
I’ve seen longtime regulars walk out because it’s just too uncomfortable to stay, and I don’t blame them. I’ve even had to cut my own visits short or skip hanging out with friends here entirely. This place is important to a lot of us, but if something as basic as air conditioning keeps getting ignored, people are going to stop coming altogether. Please fix this — we want to support you, but we also want to breathe.
P.S. Bryce and Mike were absolutely amazing through it all — still friendly, still hustling. They deserve better too.

A couple points
1. I’ve been a server and bartender with excellent reviews of my service
2. I am well aware that 20% is the going rate for good service in reference to tipping a waitress
3. While some stereotypes hold true it’s still bad character to treat someone according to those stereotype ahead of knowing what their actual character is
Our server was very standoffish, not very attentive , and just gave distasteful all around. We were well mannered and didn’t give any issues yet our things were thrown on the table , our thank you’s ignored , and just visits to the table few and far between .
If you think people are going to give you a bad tip because of their skin color you should probably give the table away because if I’m treated poorly I will tip poorly . I don’t tip poorly just because I’m black and I would def like to not be treated that way as well . Shout out to Melanee for making us feel so welcomed . 😒

Had a great burger for lunch today! Got it to go, got all the condiments and accoutremants... without asking! Don't like waste, but hate to be without cutlery, napkins, etc., because I didn't know I had to ask. Getting dip with the house-made chips was an unexpected bonus. Fast and friendly service at the bar! Wish I could've stayed for a drink. Next time!

I have only come for lunch. It can get crowded at that time. Food has always been great with reasonable prices. If you catch the lunch rush it can be a little slow.

Grabbed lunch here for the first time. Pretzel was best I’ve ever had, a bit pricey but delicious! Great service, great food. Our table had burgers, sandwiches, wraps and salads…all amazingly fresh and flavorful! Highly recommend if you’re in the area and want some yummy food. And are up for a sports bar environment.

We live in Wesley Heights and we love Freemore! The staff is always so friendly and kind. My oldest child has Autism and his latest routine is wanting to walk to Freemore Tavern every single day for the kid’s Mac & cheese with fries. We appreciate everyone there, how often they see us, and how patient and kind they are. Also, the food is always great!
