This place is a prime candidate for one of those fix'er upper shows- especially considering how few historical locales exist here in Charlotte AND the growing popularity of this particular area. I'd love to see Gus' get a makeover and become a neighborhood hub, but as it stands it is simply falling apart and generally unmaintained. The food was ok, the staff was friendly, but I get the sense that owners are just waiting for the opportunity to cash out on the property...
As a Native Charlotte resident, the food is still great but the restaurant needs a major makeover to it's dining in decor, not dining in friendly, take it to go, thank me later ✌?❤️?
Man, I came in about 20min before closing after an appointment and they were AMAZING.I'm Nonverbal and they were SO patient with me. They didn't have the meal I wanted to get my mother in law so they told me the closest thing to it. The food was hot and fresh, portions were amazing.In the rush of me trying to get out of there so they could close I forgot one of the sides. The staff ran out and brought it TO me!!I was bringing food to my kids' grandma for dinner...
