We were in Charlotte for a culinary weekend and haymaker was our favorite restaurant for many reasons! We had such a great dinner, we decided to go back for brunch. The cornbread with pimento cheese and bacon jam was out of this world! Everything else was top-notch. Our servers, Mitchell and Kyle, we're both outstanding. We are true foodies and wouldn't hesitate for a moment to highly recommend this Charlotte treasure!!

It was a night of both a baseball game and a soccer game as well as there was a big birthday party upstairs. Parking was expensive. The noise level was high because of the wild party upstairs. That said the food was excellent. The service was very very good. An enjoyable evening.

We were there for the first time attending the bourbon dinner. The food was amazing as well as the bourbon cocktails. We enjoyed our evening so much that we will be back soon. Might make sitting at the bar a regular thing.

I was visiting Charlotte for the weekend and on a beautiful Sunday morning, my cousin and I decided to walk around uptown and find a great breakfast place. We landed at Haymaker after viewing their menu in the window. It was just around 10:45 in the morning and it was packed. There were 2 seats at the bar, but someone was sitting in the middle of the two seats, but the wonderful hostess was so nice to ask her if she could move down one so that we could be seated. So awesome that the hostess asked and the nice lady agreed. Evan was our server/bartender and he was awesome and super adorable!! Ladies come check him out :). Everything looked and sounded so delicious, it was so hard to choose. We finally decided on the shrimp and grits and the sausage gravy biscuits. I'll shorten the review for the shrimp and grits because my cousin said it was cold and just ok. The sausage gravy was over an amazing biscuit with a layer of scrambled eggs and delicious potatoes as well. Every bite was so amazing that I had to share. I'll definitely go back when I'm in Charlotte next.

I had the house mint cocktail which was delicious! The trout was also lovely. Great portion size and the tarragon was surprising and added a nice touch.

Came for brunch. The chicken and biscuit was really great and the burger was decent too. The price compared to how much you get wasn't too bad either. It took a minute to get seated, but not crazy long. Overall, I'd come back.

Visited Haymaker for the first and last time. Loved the atmosphere, restaurant was modern and clean. However, we waited an extremely long time for our food after being seated…another server even noticed and the manager came and apologized for the long wait. We were on the verge of leaving when finally our food came.I ordered shrimp and grits. I can handle spice but the menu did not indicate that this meal was spicy. The meal tasted as if the cook had accidentally dumped the Cajun seasoning on the shrimp and bacon/sausage. It was too spicy to eat. I inquired if it was supposed to be a spicy dish and was told that it was Cajun shrimp and grits. Tried to take another bite of the meat and couldn’t eat it. The manager was kind enough to remove it from the ticket. She also gave us the appetizer for free because we waited so long for our food.

If we were locals we would be regulars. The bar tender and I instantly became friends. Our waiter was a former chef and gave us a world class tour.If Michelin reviewed Charlotte this would be a Bib Gourmand. If you like amazing food, attentive service, and an elevated atmosphere don’t miss this place!

Great food, great atmosphere and wonderful location. Only downfall was the server who was less than attentive and looked annoyed to be doing the job.

We were seated at 6:30 p.m. and didn't get our entrees until 8:30 p.m. We were told there was an issue with the order not getting put in or something like that. Not only was the wait super long, but they acted like we didn't notice. On a busy night, I would have been okay with a longer wait, but it wasn't busy at all. We chose this place due to farm-to-table, and the food was pretty good, but service, wait, etc., was so bad. Not sure I would go back. They did reduce our bill, but they are still not ok with how it was all handled.

I was served the wrong dish ( I had ordered pork and they brought me chicken) when I made them aware of the issue they had closed the kitchen so someone there quickly prepared some pork stake and garnished it with something and served it to me . Clearly not the dish in the menu . They still charged me for the dish in the menu . The wine list is very limited
