It's a great space and provides a semi-essential service (pouring coffee) but it seems more focused on creating an experience as opposed to serving what people want. I find their coffee overly bitter, and sometimes a bit watery. If you ask for a large, they will serve you a 10-12 oz cup. It can take several minutes per customer. Last week I was there at 2pm on a Thursday. There were 4 people in line. I left after waiting about 10 minutes to be served because I was late for a meeting. If there was another place that was allowed to compete with Hex in CNE, I'm pretty sure Hex wouldn't exist in its current state. They seem fat and happy because they have a monopoly.

The coffee isn’t good in my humble opinion.

Hot matcha was good but espresso could have been better. The quality wasn’t quite what I expected given the espresso machine I saw

I’ve been coming here for about a year now and i’ve tried about half the menu. I used to come here every week if not every other week… But I have to be honest the last maybe 3 to 4 times that I’ve bern here the food has been over salted or they keep forgetting to put something on an item that it specifically says it has. When I’ve asked for it to be corrected they act bothered, as if I’m inconveniencing them… I used to love this place and I’ve recommended it to so many people for so long. It’s definitely not the same and I honestly don’t think that I’ll be coming back.

Extremely disappointed in the service I received while attempting to support this local business. The barista who served me was nonchalant, lacked hospitality and impatient with my questions fit trying a new Latte considering the capacity of the space was light. Upon receiving my drink I expressed that the flavor was not my favorite & I requested to refund my order. The Barista then asked to see my cup, removed my lid, took a full sip and said “it tastes fine”. At this point I was in full shock… he then proceeded to tell me that he would not refund me but I could choose another drink to replace it. While I understand those options; I was both too concerned and disgusted to even compromise. At the point of my decline, the barista became irritable and aggressive in his tone before agreeing to refund my order once I 1.motioned to call my bank and 2.asked for a manager to intervene.
It’s unfortunate because I frequently go to HEX to complete my projects for work. I order the same drink every time I visit but, this one time I felt confident in stepping outside of my box for once… needless to say I will not return to HEX.

Me and my husband purchased the yogurt and Nola, however when we received the bowls the portion of food we received was very small. I was like ok maybe that’s the portion that we were supposed to get. However, after seeing the bowls while looking at the reviews, I noticed very good sized portions. So that was a little disappointing to see that. However, the bowl was very good, because of that, I’m willing to give it another chance.

Honestly had high hopes. I will say- their beans are incredible. However, our experience at the shop was not the best when visiting from Texas. One lady who took our order was visibly annoyed with us. At least the coffee was pretty good.

The barista was super pretentious and made me feel uncomfortable. The atmosphere is thelat overdone minimalist black and white apple store look. If I'm ordering $25 of food and am still sipping a sealed drink that I brought in that shouldn't be a problem. Sunflour baking has never turned me away for a drink and remains the best coffee shop in Charlotte. Go there instead.

A friend and I were exploring this location since it had just opened, and we noticed that it was one of the only coffee shops in the area. When we walked into the building and tried to open the doors, the bartender put his head under the bar, which gave off some weird vibes. Not everyone is welcome here.

Nice spot to get some work done if you’re in north end. A little more expensive than I’d like but I understand considering the location.

I am a huge fan of Hex Coffee. I loved their vibe since they were in the smaller space at Camp North End. I love their larger space and that they now offer food.
I love their seasonal menu - it is always fun to try something new.
Their avocado toast is one of my favorites in Charlotte and the chicken sando on the menu is a MUST try.
It is the perfect spot for a meeting - especially with other small businesses around at Camp.

Love their breakfast and pastry options. Their iced chai latte is one of my favorites! Can’t beat the vibe and the outdoor seating.
