do not eat from this place. The service is bad. The food is nasty. I seen roaches. I had a roach in my food

I saw this place on social media advertising an all you can eat seafood. Since I was with a group that opted not to do the all you can eat, i ordered off menu. If you get all you can eat everyone at the table has to get it. I ordered the crawfish that came with potato, and one piece of corns. I added on sausage, eggs and more corn. I found the food to be bland and I ordered the hook and reel sauce which was to be all the sauces offered in the bag. The garlic was chopped too big and nothing in the bag was seasoned at all. My table mates ordered crab legs and claw chowder and a crab salad. The crab salad had store bought shredded fake crab. My table replaced it with the shrimp salad which looked okay. The service was a bit strained as we had to ask repeatedly for things and the place was NOT busy at all at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. The ambiance looked really nice. Sadly I would not drive an hour round trip to come here again.

Food is absolutely delicious I just don’t like the facts all alcohol drinks are final sells when clearly the drinks wasn’t good I’ll only buy the food next time

The crab legs were over cooked. They serve for 90 minutes. I ordered my last pound of crab legs within the last 30 minutes and the waitress waited over the 30 minutes to bring my food so I couldn’t order again. I will never return! And sauce was horrible!

Visiting from out of town. Chose to sit on bar side. Love the wings. Bartender Abby was very friendly , always smiling and knows how to make a drink!!!

Hook n reel has good service . We ordered 2 flounder baskets. I tried the lobster bisque but did not like it it was like a spicy broth with no flavor just heat. The crab fries were made with imitation crab meat. My Daughter asked “ why use imitation crab meat when they have real crabs here” 😂 facts! It was our first time here. So I’ll give it 9/10 on the food but everything else was good! We had just discovered Rivergate. We will be back to explore more.

Dear people of Charlotte, please do not and I repeat do not eat here if you value your life please and I mean please do not and I repeat do not got to Hook and Reel on Rivergate! The food was absolutely absolutely horrific, horrible! The clams looked like baby seashells and the flavor I chose was not present. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone that's human. Food was not fresh, that was the worst looking and tasting lobster I have ever had in my life! Also when I returned home I felt sick and disgusted! Will never ever go here again! The reason I went to this location is because the ones back home in NJ have rave reviews and I thought this location would have the same experience. My brother told me not to ask to speak with the manager during our visit so I did not speak up at that time! This visit was back on 04/10/26.

This is absolutely horrible too many rules my husband’s fish was tough my crab legs was tough and the waiter was just running like a chicken with his head cut off couldn’t get food out Emmanuel just had to much to do I’m from Tennessee and I would never recommend anybody here.

I usually love this all you can eat restaurant but I went today and seemed like that had a new cook the sauce was very watery no taste just garlic chunks not happy a waste of my money. Server Ciara was awesome and bidder was great as well. But they need to make the sauce with more seasoning, butter and whatever else they was using last month.

Can't give less than 1 star unfortunately. We showed up with a group of 4 to eat. 3 were going to order off the menu and 1 all you can eat. Only one of us could justify the price of all you can eat. We drove almost an hour to get there to find out if one person got it everyone had to. We left and will never go back. But B-dubs right around the corner was fantastic!

My daughter asked to try Hook and Reel for her birthday. We had lunch and we were a bit disappointed. My daughter's shared a large boil and for the price it was a fair amount of food the problem was they got the seasoned butter sauce that had no flavor what so ever. My son in law ordered the chicken tenders basket. There were 4 small tenders that again had no flavor. I had the shrimp basket and for the price it was fine. The sad part was the best item was the cajun fries.
The best way to describe the service is average. Nothing special, but if we asked for anything we received it. The waitress did not ignore us but did drive by check ins. As she walked by she asked if everything was ok and kept walking. Again not bad just felt like she wanted to be someplace else. I get it. They added a required gratuity of 15% and then listed amounts for additional. We were a party of 4 so I wasn't expecting that.
If you try it, I hope your experience is better than ours. We will probably not be back.
