I accidentally found this bar traveling through Charlotte. I have never seen a bar this classy. And the drinks are made, with fresh squeezed ingredients in front of you. I have bragged about this place , so many times. I’ve had mixed drinks all over, and this bar serves by far the best mixed drinks I’ve experienced.

My only complaint is that we ordered charcuterie and everything came in the original plastic packaging, which i thought was so bizarre. I would've rather paid the same price to have it plated for us. Otherwise, I thought the vibe and the cocktails were amazing and our server was really attentive and helpful!

Our waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful, making great recommendations that enhanced our evening. It was the perfect spot for a date night, and we couldn't have asked for a better night out. This bar is special. Its a speakeasy with no menu, the bartender prepares a drink based off of your preferences. The vibes are incredible and my group loved every drink we got, 3 drinks for 3 different people. The service was fast, attentive, and not at all overbearing. The seating was comfortable and the decor was intentional. We arrived in an uber and took the rail home. Make a visit here a priority.

I’ve visited many bars in the area, but my experience at idlewild was by far the most upsetting. From the moment I walked in, I felt discriminated against and belittled by the staff. Their condescending attitudes and offensive comments made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, unlike anything I’ve ever encountered elsewhere.
No one should have to endure the treatment I received here. It’s incredibly disappointing that a place like this, which should be a safe space for relaxation and enjoyment, can make someone feel so condemned and small. I will never return, and I sincerely hope others don’t have to experience what I did.

Fun cocktail bar to stop at! There is no menu. You tell the bartender what flavors or types of drinks you like and they surprise you. The staff was great with my allergies and made a drink I loved! I recommend getting here early and FYI they don't typically allow groups over 6.

Came to get some cocktails with a friend and could not have had a better experience. Everyone was exceptionally friendly, the drinks were delicious, and the staff was even kind when I accidentally spilled a drink. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Justin's mixology skills and personable demeanor truly enhanced our evening, making us feel welcomed and valued as customers. He routinely stepped away from his post to refill our water and chat about the drinks.
Despite this, during our visit, we witnessed an incident that marred an otherwise pleasant experience. The suspected manager reprimanded a bartender loudly and inappropriately in front of us and other patrons (going so far as to threaten his employment to other staff). This type of behavior, regardless of circumstance, is unprofessional towards staff and uncomfortable for customers. While it did not directly affect our service, it left a negative impression on the overall ambiance of the bar.
Despite this incident, the bar itself is beautifully designed, creating a relaxing and enjoyable environment. The drinks were expertly crafted, reflecting the skill and passion of the bartenders. The rest of the staff were courteous and efficient, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout the night.
In conclusion, IdleWild Bar has much to offer in terms of atmosphere, service, and drinks. However, I urge management to address their approach to handling staff matters, as public reprimands are inappropriate and should be handled privately— notably without cursing and outburst. This adjustment would elevate an already great establishment to an even higher level of professionalism and customer satisfaction.

Absolutely amazing. Went for a friend's birthday this weekend and had the best experience. They were so kind and willing to work with our party to add a 5th person to the reservation which was so appreciated. Atmosphere was great, we all loved the moody lighting and decor. Drinks were PHENOMENAL, I don't remember our bartender's name but she was the best and made the yummiest drinks for us (I'm still thinking about my Gordon's Breakfast cocktail). Will 10000% be back for date night soon. Thank you Idlewild for making my friend's 22nd birthday the best!!!
