Idlewild was so nice and relaxing. It wasnt crowded. We went on Tuesday night about 815. We had reservations. We had 2 drinks a piece. They did a great job on the drinks. We will definitely be back!

Sitting at the bar and conversing directly with the bartenders made our night here even better. Because there's no published menu, the amount of drinks they have to keep in their heads to match customer requests is insane. Quality of the liquor is great and the ability of the bartenders is high.
Also highly recommend popping next door to the ugly and picking up some of Liz's cookies to finish your night off.

The staff is knowledgeable, but they can be so rude! I had the worst service when I went in a few weeks ago. I was looking for my friends and they were seated at the bar. I'm not sure what they thought but they immediately shouted that I was not allowed to stand at the bar and that I needed to go back to the front and just continued to have a sulking attitude the remainder of the evening when they waited on us. That staff was so rude and had so much attitude for no reason whatsoever.

I used to go often but looking back, the pretension makes it out to seem better than it is. They make drinks based off what u like but they all ended up tasting the same. The best drink I got was the bergamot margarita, I did have to show it to the bartender tho 😔

First off when you walk in you're immediately greeted, the service was fantastic our waitress was so kind, thoughtful and very knowledgeable! Everyone really enjoyed their drinks. There is not a menu you basically describe what you would want in a drink or what you're in the mood for and they can make something. I got cocktails and they were fantastic. Cocktail was 17 dollars and mocktail was 15 dollars.
Hands down one of the best experiences I've ever had! Shout out to Mason for his mixing magic! Will come again the next time I'm in Charlotte!

The atmosphere mimics a prohibition era but with a new twist! You can be casual or dress up and you’ll still feel IN PLACE.
You don’t order a drink. You tell them what you like and the bartenders make a craft cocktail. It’s a cool concept. However, one of my friends didn’t like his second drink. It was almost like the bartender made the same drinks each time for each person with just a different syrup flavor. We were looking for something completely different each time!
Now, for me, I loved my first drink and ordered the exact one again! 🩷

I hate writing negative reviews but unfortunately this is the worst experience I’ve ever had at an establishment. I made a reservation over a month ago for a party of 6 for my 30th birthday. I came with a 7th person and they said they could not seat us because we made a reservation for six.
We asked if we could fit into the same space because we were small people and there were couches not chairs so we would all be able to fit. They said no. Then I asked if we could have one person not order a drink if it was a drink limit and they said no.
I don’t understand why they wouldn’t want more business from a party when we were willing to fit in the same space and I was never given a reason and if wasn’t a fire code situation so I guess they didn’t want us? I asked them why more than 6 werent allowed when we were taking up the same amount of space and they did not give any reason.
Happy to spend my money elsewhere! If this bar is all about making cocktails based on mood, they need to perfect the mood “pissed off”
EDIT: Saw the response from the establishment and definitely a sassy bunch. We had an addition to the party that was very last minute, about 15 minutes before and I wasn't going to ditch a member so we figured if we fit on the couch it would be ok since it wasn't a fire restriction, but agree that the policy is listed on Resy on the website. I just think a business should handle their patrons better or at least give some justification. The alternative accommodation wasn't able to seat all 7 of us, which is why we were unable to stay, even though we would have fit in the space for the 6 person reservation on the couch.
