We found Intermezzo after seeing it featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and decided we had to try it. We are so glad we did! This place is truly a gem. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food comes out hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious.

I’m a huge pizza lover, and their taco pizza instantly became one of my all-time favorites. Every bite is perfectly balanced, with generous portions that feel just right. We also tried the stuffed cabbage, and it was a major hit, comforting, flavorful, and clearly made with care.

Intermezzo has definitely earned a spot on our must-visit list, and we can’t wait to explore more of the menu. Highly recommend!

I have been here countless times, and I have to say it is truly one of my favorite places to go! The pizza there is incredible, and the workers there are truly amazing! It always feels like home and truly is a great spot. Everyone there is so kind and it truly gives you a small town feel were everyone knows your name right when you walk in! I would highly recommend!

Nice, small restaurant serving a variety of different dishes. I ordered the sarma (cabbage rolls) and enjoyed them. The filling was just right, the cabbage leaves were not overcooked, and the sauce added to the flavor. The bread was a perfect addition to the meal. Service was quick and friendly, and we felt well taken care of.

Great service, half price martinis, awesome patio, unfortunately the food left much to be desired. Basically unseasoned chicken and pasta. The ravioli had a total of 5 raviolis it was like 90% sauce. The ravioli had very little inside it and was very flat. I would definitely stick to the pizza.

We stopped by primarily to support the owner, who is from Serbia like us. We told the waiter that we would like to greet him for that reason, and he said the owner was there and would check. However, even though the restaurant was completely empty, the owner never came. That felt unprofessional and disappointing — truly sad and leaves me without further comment.

my boyfriend and I came for date night clearly dressed up for dinner. They asked us if we wanted a table or bar. Since there was no one there we thought we would sit at the bar to be easier. We placed a food order and they served us promptly with to go boxes. We never indicated to-go. Absolutely rude as hell and will never go back or recommend this place. Looks fancy online but a dive bar inside

We used to eat here at least once every other week…for many years. A couple years ago things started shifting and the vibe just hasn’t been the same. So it’s only here and there that I go now.

A few of the servers and greeter who were there 20+ years were wonderful. Always felt at home and like the perfect neighborhood spot.

I took a friend for his first time last night. We ordered a bottle of wine, large pizza, bolognese with extra meat sauce. So a good check. The server was fine at first. Not great. Just fine. Didn’t know how to open wine or begin to talk about wine. That was a first there.

The problem came when the server went to tables that were still finishing drinks and said they close at 10:00. It was a little after at this point.

She continued to come by every 2-5 minutes and try to get us to go. This was very unusual and threw us. We had already poured the wine into glasses. She sold is the bottle and didn’t mention that they hard close at 10 at any point. Again strange.

She proceeded to wipe our table down while we were sitting there. We asked a couple times if we could move to the parking lot to finish the wine. She and the older woman (maybe the ownerr’s mother who is know to be rude) were very rude and not trying to help come up with a solution. But no we could not finish our wine anywhere.

She finally came to the table and said “you really have to leave”. We were having a conversation about service as she walked up. I’ve talked about this with several people who are in service (I have been as long as I’ve been working) and we all agree. You wait for the customers to finish and that sometimes that looks like hanging out at a table until they’re finished.

I’m not one to usually write reviews. I generally tell people via word of mouth about what establishments to patronize, and which to run quickly away from. This time, I'm taking it to the internet.

Came in tonight (8/7/25), for a quick bite, a couple of drinks, and some food for later. Our server, albeit new, was doing her best to take care of us. This review is not a reflection of her, she said she was still new, (although that says a lot about training standards).

Came in tonight, sat promptly, our server came right over with waters, got our drink orders, and they were tasty.

Ordered our food, some was for dine in, and we ordered a pizza togo. Minor confusion when it came to what was dine in/togo, but was handled very well; brought out the dine in food, and kept my pizza hot in the back. Shouts out.

The issue came when my girlfriend ordered the chicken francese, but asked to sub the potatoes for pasta. We’ve done this before, both in person, and through doordash. It’s never been an issue before, but tonight, we were brought a check with the drinks/food we had ordered, as well as an additional bill for 13.99 for a kids butter pasta.

Being confused, we asked our server what the extra tab was for; apparently it was for the substitution, because “it's not something we do”.

I get it. Been there, done that, right? This is accountability, and it comes from management. Obviously, our server, (being new), did not know what the correct course of action was. She went to the MOD, but instead of coming to the table themselves to address the issue, they made this server go back and forth, being the liaison, and trying to explain two different “policies” to us.

Meanwhile, the rest of the staff is staring at us, like we are the problem.

The story is almost done.

Once the server brought back our tabs, they had taken off the full size kids meal, and she said that management “would be reviewing their menu”.

God bless em, I hope so; we thought it was over, but wait! There's more.

Once we got back our closed bill, we noticed that the price had increased from $127.57 to $131.69. There was no itemized receipt left, so where did the increase come from? That is the restaurant, passing along the credit card processing fees, to YOU, the consumer. Probably with no notification. CRAZY!

Place used to be great. Really would like a plaza staple to stay as good as it was. /(‘.’)/

I was taken to dinner here by some local friends. Delicious food, generous portions, reasonable prices, friendly staff, chill atmosphere. Will definitely be back the next time I'm passing thru CLT. What are YOU waiting for?! 😉 👍
