Unprofessional and Aggressive Security – Disappointing Experience
I came to this event with a group of 7, looking forward to a night of music and community. Unfortunately, our experience was ruined by unprofessional and unnecessarily aggressive behavior from the venue’s security team.
While walking through the crowd, a security guard shoved me—no warning, no “excuse me.” I calmly pointed out that a simple “excuse me” would’ve sufficed. His immediate response? He kicked me out. No conversation. No warning. Just straight to removal. It was a clear display of a power trip.
For context, another individual who was dancing on the stage was also instantly kicked out without a verbal warning. This seems to be a pattern at this venue—security acting with zero de-escalation or professionalism.
Yes, I resisted slightly on the way out—but only because I was being disrespected and steamrolled without cause. I wasn’t drunk, aggressive, or belligerent. I’m a sober adult, a U.S. Army officer, and a public servant with a master’s degree. I don’t start problems—I speak up when I’m disrespected.
Once outside, my group and I tried to calmly explain what happened. The same guard refused to listen, repeatedly threatened to call the police instead of hearing out paying customers. We welcomed the idea of involving law enforcement if it meant a fair conversation, but they weren’t interested in fairness.
This was not just disappointing—it was unacceptable. No one wants to spend their time and money at a venue where customer voices are shut down and where security acts more like bullies than professionals.
Until management addresses their staff’s behavior and prioritizes respectful, safe treatment of all patrons, I can’t recommend this venue to anyone.

Just had a great night here randomly with a group of friends. Service was good. Bar was clean. Pool table was nice. Jukebox was kicking. Annabelle took really good care of us.

They don't actually serve food, it's a bar only, but the bartender was super nice and gave me some nearby suggestions.

This is the perfect dive bar to watch sports - especially soccer. If you don’t like sports, there is also plenty of space to chill. The bartenders are extremely friendly, and the prices are competitive with, if not better than, similar bars in Plaza Midwood.

Great place to catch a soccer game. Lots of games for adults - and kids (ski ball, pool, basketball, shuffle board, etc.). At least as of September 2024, this is a bar only with no food (but can BYOF).

My first time here, to check out the vibe, it was great and it's a sports(soccer) friendly bar. They have a live band that makes the area electrifying. And lots of different games keep the crowd engaged. It's definitely a place to go with friends and just be open-minded with the crowd here. Parking is a little tide around this area in general, so if you are lucky, you might get free parking. If not, you will need to pay for parking a little further down the street.

Jack’s is THE place to watch soccer in Charlotte! Such a great atmosphere! I had the star spangled margarita that was on special and it was amazing! Sweet and summery and the perfect thing to sip while watching the match!

Got there just in time for the FA Cup and Scottish Cup Kickoff. Asked Andy to see if he could get the Scottish Cup on for us. He was confident that he could (and did). We were able to watch both matches with a nice group of football fans. Full credit to Andy for making it happen and keeping the refreshments coming. When I return to Charlotte, will definitely drop in again. Thank you from me and my family!

I've been coming here off and on since I moved to Charlotte at the end of 2018. Now that I'm living on this side of town I find myself coming here more often as it has really become my favorite spot. The vibe here was always great but they really seem to have stepped up their game in the last year or so Danica seems to be a fixture as bartender and she is fantastic! Loralee (sp?) has been there on Sundays and she is fun as well. I've been to some public and private events on the other side of the bar and the space is top notch. Marine Corps Toys for Tots event, and two other public events I've been to there in the last 6 months. They updated the outdoor smoking and drinking area which is great.Damn, now I want a drink!
